If the Subaru electric turbo reports are true, you might want to look into transplanting a next gen WRX engine...
The perfect forced induction system really. No lag, no efficiency decrease. |

My thoughts exactly. I would prefer to wait for some US based company to release something. HKS is nice and all, but you pay $$$.

Don't we have to wait for high-voltage car electrics before these electric blowers have a hope?

Yea I guess, but that change could be coming soon. If cars switched to 42V, regenerative braking BMW style could be done with any old alternator easily. Lots of possibilities
Maybe I should go check that article again, but I think it said Subaru is working on electric boost. Motortrend said it was in development, so maybe for the next refresh of the WRX? |

Looks like I will be doing a full exhaust, intake, and then the HKS S/C kit. Slap some lighter rims and sticky 225s on there and I've got the performance equivalent of a Porsche Cayman for under 35k, and one HELL of a sleeper. Drop the car 1 inch with some lowering springs and slightly stiffer anti-roll bars to compensate for the extra grip from wider sticky tires, and I've got a straight up awesome daily driver/autocross car/GT. Now...about that warranty..... Truthfully, if Scion offers a quality supercharger kit with warranty, that would immediately sway me to get the FR-S. The HKS kit is probably going to be great but without any kind of warranty....

I really like your plan, Maxim. I hope to do the same, someday. Please post about it in the future.

I'm fairly confident we'll see more than a 20hp/20lb-ft gain from a supercharger, especially if they offer us a way to drop the compression.
