Put a glass coating on it. There are many available through Detailed Image. I was clumsy and scraped the area in front of the front wheel rather badly while backing out of the garage. Lots of housepaint on the car, and man was I afraid of what was underneath. Figuring I had an extensive repair to make, I scrubbed it vigorously with Comet and a sponge. The scrape never touched the car's paint, and the Comet didn't even cut the glass coating's shine, which sustained a few shallow scratches which look like they will disappear with a local reapplication of the coating.

The low-VOC water-carried paints they mandate now may be fragile, but you have to admit they're beautiful. But we don't have to surrender to damage. Fight for your finish!

I was really disappointed when I saw that the new Island Blue Pearl color for the 2017 Impreza wasn't available on 2017 BRZ's. Of the available colors I actually prefer white but my Impreza is white so I settled for WRB.

What is Comet you were talking about? A paint polish?

Firestorm first, Hot Lava second.

I chose Firestorm as a sentimental shout-out to my 'Teg. I love red on my FR-S and regret nothing. But DAMN, Hot Lava is sexy ;-)

No, just an abrasive cleanser for -- ahem -- toilet bowls, bathtubs and such. Never to be used on another type of surface you want to preserve.
