Most useful information I've found on the Net ever

I can't begin to express enough gratitude for this info. I live in Peru, and I got the popping noises and P0352 coil errors after tracking. Local dealer was clueless. So I had to hunt for info and found this thread. Then I went to the dealer again and explained the whole thing the best I could to them, and they have now discovered the blown seal and failed injector and will honor the warranty. First case here. The bad news is there are no replacement parts whatsoever in stock in the entire country (only 60+ GT86s sold here), so it's gonna take a while to get the car back into shape. While I was researching, I ordered some Okada coils thinking that was the main issue. Not so sure they will be necessary now, but maybe they won't hurt either. I haven't modded anything in the engine, as I was playing it safe during my first year of ownership, and have only modded wheels, tires, catback exhaust, and KW V3 suspension. Gonna have to wait before installing LCAs and Camber plates until later.

Awesome info, great video and excellent follow-up posts, folks. Can't thank you enough. I really enjoy tracking this car.

Yep. Almost 57K now, 20K+ SC'd. Just ordered the tool. Going to the dealer Fri to see what happens, honestly planning to fix it myself. Car is currently parked, driving my Tacoma for now.

Misfires on 3 of 4 cylinders at about 5K RPMs. Tool on order. Parts will be ordered next week. Possibly first AT to have DI seal failure?

Probably want to order coils too if you had a ton of heat buildup.

Just to be clear here, I don't have any evidence that this is related to the tune. I did have Bill do a custom 91 tune w the PPE header/overpipe and the 70mm pulley. I had issues with the PPE headers ratlling, and swapped back the OEM parts without reverting back to the 8.58 tune. That may have induced the problems I have now. It is too early to tell at this point.

I'm going out in the garage now to pull the blower and try to get at the DI units.

So here are some photos from the tear down tonight. I managed to get the IC'd blower off in 1 hour. Not sure what to make of the state of the seals, but I will be replacing them one way or another.
