Gent5 UEL header + Overpipe intial Review

Here is a review of the Gent5 UEL header + Overpipe found on FRSport.
http://www.frsport.com/Gent5-G1112-G...p_1478692.html

Waiting for the UPS man today got a head start taking off the stock headers and taking some measurements and weigths

First wanted to measure the inside diameter of the overpipe and secondary.
Looks to be 50mm inside or slightly less that 2" WEAK!

Weights
headers 20.8 lbs

overpipe 4.6lbs

Then ordered my own heatshield stuff to cover oil pan near the header. Got some OCD and covered some areas of the engine too!

THEY ARRIVE!

Arrived tonight so I will be installing them Sunday

Really Nice looking welds

Best pic I could get of the Merge collector looks real clean and smooth

Then took some weights
Headers 15lbs

Over pipe 3.5 lbs and the overpipe looks nice as well

Inside Diameter of the overpipe and end of the header flange 58mm or about 2.25"

Only minor thing was one small section of the flanged wasn't machined the same but the area was still smooth and flat with the rest of the flange otherwise these are 99% perfect

More OCD kicked in And I always cover any flange, seal or gasket with a layer of Acousti Seal which is a tar like stuff. Wanted to extra seal the connecting pipes

These were sealed very nice from the factory was able to get them apart about a 1/2" which was good enough to get some tar on

All back together and cleaned up. A lot of tar got pushed out telling me the stock seal is very precise.

Stay Tuned Sunday for my install!

Installed

Installed this morning man this was the easiest header install Ive ever done. Didn't even need swivel attachments like others have said.

Here are the Siruda gaskets which can be purchased with the headers

The went to coating every flange with Acousti-Seal. Man I really love this stuff for making a sound/airproof seal, just wear some gloves because it can get messy.

Installed the overpipe first. Couldn't imagine installing an overpipe with the headers still on the car

Bad pic but loosened the bottom bolt of the stock cat pipe to have some play with the overpipe to rear cat connection.

All buttoned up everything fit perfect

Plenty of space between the overpipe and suspension. I had added a layer of the insulation on the suspension incase it was close. Not the case had a good finger gap.

Final Top down view

Sound - don't have a good setup to record yet but there are plenty of clips of UEL headers with stock midpipe and catback on youtube.
First cold startup I thought man that's loud but not the case at all. Even without a cat this sounds quiet with the rest of the stock exhaust with a slight change to the rumble.
I could defineantly upgrade to a highflow cat and a more flowing catback but I would still go with something on the quieter scale

Power- NO tune yet but that delay in the middle rpms seems gone. Accelerated more linear. Cant wait to feel what a tune will do. Plus eliminating that cold start non-sense will be on my list.
Also the Blox CEL eliminator seems to be working so far with 100 miles driven we'll see. Time to drive again!

What's that seal like when you try to remove it?

Its easy to put on has about the same consistency of a silicone glue going on. Apparently heats and cures to be a bit more solid. So you would need to scrape it off. I used some mineral spirits to clean off the excess on the pipes. Thankfully for me I got 3 years until inspection so it will be on there for a while.

I felt under there while the car was jacked up and running. Zero I mean zero leaks! Here are some reviews on Amazon

Is the overpipe size of 2.25" smaller than stock? Or other header/OP combos?

Been running on OFT v3 beta tune since install. Runs great even in really cold temps since then. Lot more mid rang torque which this car needs. Heard there is a v4 tune coming out soon!

From my measurements above 2.25" is the inside diameter. I believe stock is 2.25" outside diameter. So bigger without being overkill. I run into a 60mm HKS dual resonated front pipe and HKS rear legamax catback. Keeps the velocity of flow the same all the way through
