Lol most people who speak English as a first language don't use it right either.

This one won't depreciate that much, it's easy to park, and is electric.

Spent the better part of last evening helping my dad attempt to bring his old R75/7 back to life. Its been sitting for the better part of 3 years, and as a result has some problems. We did an oil change and got rid of the old, bad gas and put new gas + a bit of seafoam in it. It starts up and idles on choke, but tends to die when the choke is off and doesn't seem to want to rev above 4K. Feels like the slides in the carbs just wont rise or the main jet is clogged... I'm thinking there has to be some kind of varnish or gunk in the carbs from sitting for so long. I'm hoping the seafoam we put in it will help un-gunk them a bit but who knows how much it will really help. And I don't know enough (really anything...) about 40 year old BMWs to really be much more than a pair of hands so the prospect of a full carb rebuild scares me lol.

Carb? Choke? Car sitting for years? Now we are talking my territory!
Just go out and get yourself a carb rebuild kit. All the seals and gaskets will be all dried out and possibly even falling apart. There will be nothing you can do until you rebuild it. It is a simple rebuild though.

If it dies off throttle at idle it is likely an intermediate circuit like the pilot, or an air/fuel screw bypass.

Do the throttle cables go to a butterfly or to the slides? If they go to a butterfly the carbs are vacuum operated and rise with engine RPM, they pull vacuum from the intake which pulls them up. If they are vacuum operated pull the tops off and check the diaphragms to make sure there are no tears or holes.

Not that it changes anything, but its a motorcycle not a car lol. Anyway, my dad is planning on getting a rebuild kit, I am just super nervous about it because I have no experience rebuilding carbs and I feel like possibly gunked up, 40 year old carbs where all the labels and info are in German is a less than ideal starting point lol.

Basically, the only thing I really know regarding wrenching on this thing is that "nicht überfüllen" probably means "do not overfill".

Or they haven't dried up and disintegrated. Thus the need for a rebuild kit. If it has been sitting dry for 3 years the rubber/plastic/fiber innards are all toast.
