I believe so, yes. I am on my third E85 tank right now. When that hits the E level, ill probably fuel up 50% of my tank with 91, then go back to E85 when I hit E again.

With the OFT and RomRaider, I can edit the Cranking tables myself.
Any ecutek user can use the software to create a map exactly like oft or open source only with a few of the racerom features added. The pro version just open up additional racerom stuff like custom maps.

If you got your tune from a master tuner, it's likely locked and not editable.

I just got home and I dropped 11.5 gallons of e85 in the tank. I'm going to do some decent testing of my modified cranking IPW.

I'm pretty sure you can get a true flexfuel setup for a lot cheaper than $2000. I'm only planning on spending about $1200-1300 (dyno tune and flexfuel kit)...

ECUtek License+Cable = $700
FlexFuel Hardware = $850

That is over $1500 without the tune and I know FA20Club charges $300 for gas and $300 for e85 to get the FlexFuel tune.

FlexFuel seems like quite the waste of money. Good luck with that...

I wanted FlexFuel quite a bit, but I am super happy with the OFT. I think happier than I would be with FlexFuel.

I plan on doing, 93 for late fall to mid spring for easy starts/winter reliability, then E85 for the rest of the time.. that is once i have saved the funds for tuning (so close!)

It comes down to a want vs. need. It is a waste because FlexFuel is not needed, but rather wanted by people.

and like @Luckrider, we both are content with what the OFT offers. Sooo yeah

Wants and needs also differ from a person to another; in addition id rather pay 570 $ and not have to hassle with maps and "draining out" my tank

I'd bet that Shiv's tune is very conservative considering that it has to work with a range of ethanol contents (E50-E90). If so, that means he's sacrificing ultimate power for safety (smart). Flex fuel/Race Rom would allow you to have multiple maps that are ideal for varying levels of ethanol content in your fuel - I believe Delicious Tuning made around 200whp with E85 on an otherwise stock car. I'd bet anything that car's ethanol content was a true E85 (vs something less like a 'winter' mix), and the timing was significantly more aggressive. I know I'm running significantly less than 85% ethanol in my tank, and my EL OFT tune (my car is stock) is not experiencing any significant knock at all.... but it doesn't feel like 200whp either (although it's peppy!).
