Feel free to correct me if I am wrong but $300 seems quite low for a V2.

Yeah $300 is pretty weak for an item that's $500 new, plus shipping (and likely tax with new laws) and has a strong resale value.
You might be able to find an older v1 with a cracked screen for $300
