Perhaps it's because I have the AP Racing England kit, but my DS2500 don't squeal much (rear) and my S100 only (front) squeal on low-speed stops. Perhaps I was able to get more heat in them as my caliper isn't race designed.

DS2500 seems to squeal for everyone that has the AP Racing kit...

@D1cker and @ImperiousRex's experience mirrors yours, i believe, as far as DS2500 goes.

So does getting a " bbk " or anything bigger than stock help with coming to a stop sooner? Or is getting a bbk along with drilled/slotted rotors just to dissipate heat? I feel like tires and weight play more of a role than brakes do in stopping a car.

Tires are the single biggest factor. It's the only part of the car that touches the ground, and even the cheapest, oldest car on the road can still lock up the tires, meaning there is more braking force available in that stock braking system, than the tires have grip.

The purpose of the BBK is to reduce unsprung weight, lower long term operating cost, and generally look badass.

Oh, and I finally got to watch this video. Good stuff, @Dezoris. I laughed. I cried. I subscribed on YouTube.

I appreciate the character development in all of your videos, and the addition of the Indian mechanic is a nice touch.

I always thought this kit and many other BBKs #1 priority is to handle more heat, so you can consistently brake without fade or other heat related problems.

That too... sorta falls under "lower long term operating cost", sorta, but I should have clarified. oops. I need more coffee.

but they dont make this kit for the back. what do you put in the back? arent you messing up the brake bias by doing this? isnt there performance left on the table too? should an ap racing factory kit go in the back??

Did you not read the product details on the Essex website? This kit is designed for this car, and to be used with stock rear brakes, therefore it maintains the brake bias.

Speaking of which, I believe brake bias can be messed up even without a BBK. Simply fitting the wrong combo of front/rear pads on factory calipers can alter the brake bias...

I skimmed through it I've been reading more on the forums but thanks for pointing that out and yeah your right about messing up the bias with the pad combination

For me, there is no glide in pulse and glide :p

The AP kit is probably the most tested on the Forums from track users. Its pretty consistent in terms of performance and it definately responds best with the same pad compound at all four corners like oem.

I dont think anyone has had issues with bias. But one thing that the drivers of my car dont like is that the brakes are very very firm like on and off switch hard to modulate with agressive pad compounds.
