Remember, we're not getting the base model, the FR-S will be somewhere between the G and GT trim levels so look for those prices when making that assumption.

Softer springs would allow better turn in.

This isn't the first time we have heard or read that the BRZ is on the side of understeering more than the FR-S is.

Edward Loh from MT said he got the prices already for the Subaru. I think it was

$24,500 for the BRZ premium manual + 1k for the automatic
$27,000 for the BRZ limited manual + 1k for the automatic

So I think the Nav system and HID's add $1,500 so I am guessing the FRS is going to be $23,000 for the manual.

that seems like the best estimate for this car. I don't see it going lower than $23k

I have a feeling that is it. It makes sense since the Tc manual is $20,150 with destination charge and it comes with a panoramic roof which is a pricey feature that the FR-S doesn't have so I would say the FR-S can easily end up being $23,750 with dest. combined. A difference of $3,600 sounds about right. I never expected them to be 1-2k apart.

If the Limited ends up being $27k that's what I'll be going with. If it's any more I think I'd have to go with the Premium.

We have talked a lot about pricing in the past basically to the point of

But I was hoping $24-24.5k for the premium and $26k for the limited. FRS at $22-22.5k.

I read this review and I knew you guys would be all over the MPG number and the price. Considering these 2 things are always a hot topic over here, it doesn't surprise me to see you guys reacting like this.

But did any of you actually look at the little notes on their chart?

MPG is "C/D Est" or Car and Driver Estimate. How the hell would they know how much this car can get unless they ran the tanks completely empty doing both city and highway driving? I wouldn't read too much into this estimate.

Same thing goes for MSRP. It also says "est" or estimate right next to the price. How do we know if they just didn't pull this number out of nowhere? Or maybe they googled the price somehow when writing the review. Again, I wouldn't put too much credit into this number considering we don't know the sources.

Speculate all you like but at the end of the day, I won't be worried about estimated MPG or final price until I'm at the Scion Dealership paying for my new FR-S. I wouldn't worry about what C&D says. In the end the dealership is what matters.

This car will get over 30 mpg people so calm down. My RSX gets 33 hwy without direct injection and it doesn't have a better CoD than the FR-S.

I'm concerned about the "understeer" comments in reference to the BRZ. I would like to have something more neutral like the FRS, however I'm sold on the BRZ styling. How would you go about getting the BRZ to have a neutral handling character? Is it better to go with a set of properly tuned coilovers? Or could it just be done with a wheel and tire upgrade?

Get the FR-S springs. Or buy a coilover setup.

Or a stiffer rear sway bar, or alignment settings, or wider front tires than rear (yeah no one will do that but it will change the handling), etc.

Plenty of ways to skin that cat.

$26k is what is what I've expected this car to be at base price. And even more so after reading that. The Genesis Coupe 2.0T is coming in at $25k, and I predicted that the FR-S would be in between the 2.0T and 3.8.

I honestly think $26k might be the base price. Cars are just more expensive these days and there seems to be quite a demand for this car.
