Only one I've seen in person was a turbulence grey one. For me, it's nitro yellow or phantom. If I do decide to get one (even if it's an auto), it'll be another year or two for them to work out any kinks and bugs, and for a more powerful version (might as well).

For those who missed the news, these guys are the ones who will be doing the manual transmission swaps for about $12k.

Yeah, especially since they'll have to tear apart and redesign the center console to fit the shifter (with enough space for shifting!)

So for about the price of a good used MT FRS/BRZ you too can have a manual transmission in your Supra that isn't designed for it and will likely be slower because of it.

Yea, that'll work.

There was a father and son with matching Supras at autox last weekend. They put down some very good times, with the dad only coming in second to the one of the best autox drivers in the country.

I wouldn't call them pretty, but they do look better in person.

By that logic, the price of any car would be a derivative of the cars you could buy in its place. Again, by that logic, the Supra is already the price of five used MT FRS/BRZs. What is one more?

If I had the money for a Supra then I would consider this swap. Still could be cheaper than a manual Cayman or other alternative. I’d probably do it myself though.

Well true, or you could have both the Supra and an 86 which seems like a pretty good pair to me.

I know why some folks would want to do it, heck its the same logic that allows folks to justify rebuilding the family 1964 Falcon for $80,000 to make it a really nice $15,000 car. Nothing wrong with it, its your money and it ain't worth nothing if you can't spend it on the things you want.

I say go for it!

Why is almost every car video on youtube a bunch of douchebags with money to have fun with cars? Does the money come from being douchey and
then getting views to make more money or is the money there to begin with and then they make douchey car videos?

Actually, I love the BMW look. Just like I love Audi's understated yet evolutionary changes.

However, it's not difficult to get BMW models and years confused. They're not as visually impacting. I can see why someone would want a BMW with a sexy, different Japanese body style. I love the M2/M240i, but it's very difficult to justify the price tag for a rather generic looking 2-door when you can have the Supra with a sexy distinctive body.

Also, I just find it funny when people say "but it's not a real Supra, it's a BMW!" Yeah, then those people have nothing against going out and buying an M2/M4 instead. Lol.

I can't wait to see what it'll look like in that green wrap once they're done!

Lol. So true.

I totally get when someone reviews cars or gets sponsors to test drive and produce videos. But when I see just a bunch of guys with two to five exotics and they're just racing of acting like drunk frat boys, it's rather puzzling. Lol.

It's a very grey area. Like, for example, when you watch HGTV and hear "He's a stay at home turtle breeder and she's a quilt maker. Their budget is $4.5 million." WTF!?

I've watched some videos of "kids" explaining to their viewers how they managed to get a Ferrari at 24 years old. They said they cooked their own meals at home, saved every penny, lived with their parents, didn't buy nice clothes or new gadgets every year (still owned a flip phone), etc. Understandable. To a degree.

Sorry, that was a rant...
