Turbo Charging in Canada?

Hey everyone.

I have been getting mixed answers about when it comes to turbo charging a frs in Vancouver, Canada. Some say that our fuel is not as good as our friends down in the states and will only be capable of making around 230whp. But i have other people saying i can still make 300whp (my goal) using canadian chevron 94 octane and still be reliable. Im hoping i could get some info on who is correct in this situation! I am not that knowledgeable in tuning. Thanks!

A friend of mine once spoke to a retired BMW engineer who worked on their cars when fuel injection was new. He said their cars would not run properly on Canadian gasoline due to it's poor quality. Worked everywhere else in the world.
Personally, I have found my cars get far superior fuel mileage on NY Sunoco Ultra 94 fuel compared to Ontario's Petro Canada Ultra 94.

Got hard data to back any of these statements up?

No, just my experience. I re-set the trip meter each fill-up and shocked how much farther US fuel goes. This after multiple trips.

You do know that the fuel economy read out is notoriously inaccurate, right?

He said trip meter, not mileage meter.
