Considering the documents say if a spring is going to break it is likely to be within the first 5,000 miles I think you are in the clear. If I was affected by the recall there is not a hope I would bother and I have only half the miles you have.

I had myself so stressed out, I was about to just get rid of the car at one point.

I went through all that a long time ago with the famous Mitsubishi/DCM crank walk issues. I stressed out with all the failures I was hearing about and the panic it set off through the community. Was going to get rid of the car or swap the engine or do anything but wait it out but didn't have the cash to actually act. When the smoke cleared and all the real info came out it ended up being a 2% failure rate. The odds of getting hit by a truck on the highway were way higher than those of the engine failing.
As far as we know the failure rate for the springs is someplace around .03%. The failure rate after repair is unknown since we have no clue how many blew afterwards vs how many were fine but I have to think that it is higher than .03%. But why have it "fixed" even if the grand total ends up being 5 or 10%?

I do as well. It prevented stone chips but the tattered edges of the larger impacts are like little banners flapping in the wind now. Of course many missed it completely and the rest of the hood looks like crap.
What happened to your plan to get your car repainted?

Or, did you?

DANG! You must be an aware driver and good maintenance manager - or you're lucky.

This summer. I had to travel when it was supposed to be done last summer. The guy is going to teach me how to PDR on it so was worth waiting.

For sure, for sure. Even if another fellow, that hung out down at the corner gas station, had a problem with the identical car (highly unlikely), you could always say he was a bad driver.

It was making a vibration noise which varied with speed. At first I thought it was unequal tread or something, but it turned out to be the bearings.

I'm sitting at around 138k miles on my 2014 with no major issues. I'm actually thinking of supercharging it and making it my weekend car instead my DD this summer.

I try to stay on top of my maintenance, But im also not super rough on my BRZ. I was a lot rougher on the Scion than I am on the BRZ.

Holy hell @WorldRallyBlueBRZ. Nice to see someone rack that up.

Guess I'll check back in.

161k miles. Started tracking at 120k miles and done 8 days total. Needed to get a catch can but otherwise noting outside normal maintenance. Valve cover still leaks a bit.

Have not done the recall yet and don't plan to until forced when smog comes in a few more years. And even then I may just find out what some of the swapped guys are doing lol
