Ive been running the KN filter for months now and love it. I wasn't expecting miracles when I installed it but its a nice fun bump. The factory intake as a unit is a good design so I didn't see the justification to pony up for a full replacement

Just the bump in MPG is a god enough reason to switch to a drop in filter. Ordering my K&N now!

Yeah I've enjoyed the K&N drop-in for 15,000 miles now. Small bump in power and gas mileage. Cheap and easy. Can't go wrong. Itching to switch to the FA20Club CAI though. Shameful to say, but I mostly want the induction noise at 7000 RPM haha

Tease. :P I'm still oscillating between the FA20Club and the Perrin. My only concern with the perrin is the filter's proprietary right? I liked that the FA20Club was a standard K&N cone I could get at the local parts store.

Thanks for the info! What's the end cost on the Perrin? It comes in two parts right? Hard pipe/elbow and then the U bend to the CAI?
I've not heard an open intake yet on an 86, but I can imagine just based on the induction noise I already have that it's pretty glorious I know the common opinion is intakes don't provide gains over the drop in, but have you dyno'd or noticed a difference? I've never had an engine that revs that didn't benefit from a properly engineered CAI. |

So what is the K&N part number from autozone. I saw 2 of them listed on this thread. Which is the best one?
