The show overall is ok. By this time you've seen most if not all the cars. Plus Pokemon is life...prolly spent more time across the street at Disneyland catching Pokemon than in the show floor itself 😂

The header from Fujitsubo has arrived. Unfortunately it's front pipe counterpart hut a delay at shipping so it will go on later. Install will happen on Friday!

Header is in. Fit and finish was, as expected, on point. One of the interesting parts of the install was that the kit comes with heat wrap material for specific areas of the car to protect. Otherwise, as straightforward as it can be.

















My immediate impressions is that the power delivery of the car is significantly smoother. From an actual power standpoint, I won't be able to verify until the front pipe is in and the car gets taken to be retuned (on that note, the header is designed to actually run on the stock tune. No CEL or retune is required); however, my butt dyno does detect a noticeable bump in power. My only way to describe it at this point is that the car actually feels like its running on E85 despite it currently on 91 pump (will be putting in a new thank of ethanol this coming week).



Sound wise, it remains quiet. As it stands, its a little louder than stock and has a more aggressive tone. I chose this header partly because of this reason. I don't need to waking up either my neighbors or the cops and I prefer not to smell exhaust fumes at all times.



In other news, the car was brought to 86fest the next day after the install. Overall, a much better show than previous years past and while still hot as hell outside, it was cooler overall than years past and a nice breeze going through. At the end of it, I was excited to find out the car won as one of the best judged FRS and BRZs there. Always nice to be acknowledged!

Part 2 of the Fujitsubo installed happened over the weekend. Front pipe now connected and the full exhaust setup on my car is complete:

Fujitsubo header
Fujitsubo over pipe
Fujitsubo front pipe
Stock midpipe
STi axleback

Making an appointment to have the car retuned and will be recording sound clips during that time. Sound wise, there won't be much that will really "impress" people though. The system is designed to be at stock sound levels. With the axle back it's slightly louder but with a lower tone. The idea here, again, is a street build and to that end this car runs stealthily without waking the neighbors.

That being said, the car is running more smoothly and powerfully than ever across the rev counter. Looking forward to have the tune on this car optimized and getting the house and torque numbers posted!

The exhaust welding is amazing!

Sometimes working on the car isn't glamorous. Finally fixed the whole loose/rattling rearview mirror that plagued the car on a lot of 2013 BRZs (although from what I've heard it can still happen).

Updated mount backplate from Subaru plus adding some loctite to the screws have made the mirror a lot more solid. Time will tell if things remain good.

My next purchase will be the Fujitsubo Front pipe in the winter while the car is stored.

Speaking of which, did you get the Front Pipe from FRSport?

& I wonder how the Fujitsubo manifold will hold up. I know 2 members who had problems with the header unfortunately.

Got mine through Cusco USA. Been friends with the people who run it for a while so there was consensus around getting the system in for my car based on how it was being put together.
