Not all parts of Washington are smog testing free. But passing smog is much easier than in California. Or at least it was 7 years ago.

bringing it back to the head phone discussion. I like the sound and passive noise cancellation of over-ear headphones but I hate home hot they make my ears, so I settle for in-ear ones. Are there any "ventilated" head phones out there or ones that minimize it? Not a huge stickler on sound quality. Budget of around $200-$300.

That's a tough one because earpads make or break sound quality and noise isolation. I just reviewed the Bose QC35 II with Google Assistant and they're really comfortable, even with glasses, which is hardly the case.

For passive headphones, maybe look for on ear instead of over ear.

This is one reason I like open headphones, but then you lose the passive noise cancellation. You could always just crank up the volume to drown out other noises and hope bionic ear replacements are good and common before you lose your hearing.

I use in ear noise canceling when traveling(they’re also great in areas like data centers or other places with tons of fan noise/constant machinery noise), in ear Bluetooth at work(provide a little isolation and don’t have to worry about the cord snagging on stuff), and open air over the ear at home (best sound quality and comfort).

I think “velour” style earpads feel better when your ears are hot than leather/pleather. I really like the ones on my Sennheisers but I haven’t worn any of the closed over ear sennheisers for an extended period.

Where I live in cali there's no smog testing. It only has to be done on the vehicle's change of ownership. Check dmv.ca.gov and look at zip code 95482 if you don't believe me. I checked before buying my headers and OFT. No snow, no ice, no truly bad weather except the biblical rain last year, and I am free to mod my car to my heart's content. Winning

For some reason I always forget about those pockets of joy in California.

She ended up just using ear buds lol. Gonna just wait and up the budget to get exactly what she wants instead of settling. Probably gonna check black friday/cyber monday
