18 x9.5 + 41 wheels with 265/35/18 achilles tires

You should be ok with enough negative camber and possibly the rear bumper tab shaved. Totally doable 👌

How many negative camber? Like -2 front -1.5 rear?

What you mean rear bumper need to shaved?

I would suggest -2.5 rear, and -3.0 front front for those wheels. But, you will see when you get th on. If you only have coils, the natural rear camber may be enough, but you'll probably also want rear LCA.
The bumper tab will rub on a 265. Either shave it, or it "shaves" itself.

Yes, 18x8.5 +30 will look great with 225/40 tires and some negative camber. The lowest et for 18x8.5? (That I would suggest) Maybe +20, which will poke like 18x9.5 +33. +35 is really common for 18x9.5 wheels. You can totally run a lower offset, but I don't think that setups that require more than -3.5 front ( or very close) are great. That's a good amount of camber for AutoX. Looks great. Is functional. And won't destroy your tires instantly.


I'm running 18x9 +30 front. I have also run 18x8 +20 front. Both sizes fit with -1.5 front for me. Though I am running -2.5 front now.

Would i need to get LCAs?

Yes it will fit. The 255/40 will be a taller tire just keep that in mind and it will affect your speedometer. You do not need LCA necessarily it will depend on how much you lower the car. Lowering the car adds camber naturally so if you go really low you will need LCAs to correct the camber if you want to get it even.

Do you know why some ppl might choose 35 over 40 and vice versa? I guess 40 would add to the overall height tiny bit

Yes, ideally when you are upgrade tires you want to stay close to OEM specs. When you go to big it starts affecting gearing and the car can start feeling sluggish and heavy etc. People generally want lower profile tires because it helps with accleration, handling and turn-in and yes weight is a bit of a factor.

You can use a tire size calculator and see the specs for OEM vs the new size tire so you can compare specs. https://www.discounttire.com/learn/tire-size-calculator

Hey guys, I have a 1" lift on my car (Subtle Solutions 1" HDPE lift kit) and still running stock tires/wheels.

I'm looking to upgrade very soon and was thinking of going with something a little wider. What wheel/tire size would look good with a bit of a lift? I'm not looking for perfect fitment or anything. The lift is due to shitty roads here in Montreal and having a perfect fitment isn't ideal for daily driving here - too many potholes.

I was thinking 17x8" with 235/40 or 235/45... I know there'd still be a wheel gap due to the lift... Would I be really shooting myself in the foot by keeping the wheel diameter the same? Should I consider 18's instead? I still want a decent amount of tire sidewall to help cushion the ride a bit and prevent wheel damage when hitting inevitable potholes on these roads.

Also, what should I look for in terms of offset?

There is a lifted thread. Guys have posted all the weird sizes they have been using. I mean, I like to suggest tires that are OEM diameter.

I would suggest 16 or 17. 18s are for looks.

17x8 +35 or +40, IMO will work good with a lift.

Um... maybe a 235/45/17 or a bit taller 215/50/17. 235/45 is 2.9% larger, and 215/50 is 3.4% larger diameter... These sizes are tall, but not crazy like some of the sizes in the thread below. 215/65/16s are almost 10% larger!!!

EDIT: some guys are running WAY taller tires... Wow!
