so after all this time, is it worth the upgrade from the previous gen?

Not to go too off topic, but how do you like that Innovate combo gauge? I've taken a peak or two at it a couple times over the past few weeks, and I think it may be in my favor to pick one of these guys up.
Whoops.. yeah oilP.
Haven't installed my gauges yet.. just got the car back. They look great though and I am planning on mounting where the radio was.

While this product looks really cool, I think it's just not worth the trouble for me at this price point (for now). Maybe down the road it will make more sense.
Any reading the ECU has can be added to a custom configuration in the Solo 2 DL, as long as you know the PID and the scaling.

That being said, we do not have a oil pressure reading from the factory, so it cannot be integrated into the Solo DL/Solo 2 DL.

Yes, if the new features are important to you.

What is everyone seeing for battery life on the SOLOs? Mine looses 20-30% charge when turned off in the drive between home and the track. Kind of sucks to get to the track and have a dead solo before lunch.

My Solo2 has been great, full weekends with plenty of spare charge. I once even forgot to charge it and it lasted a full day anyway (I had used it for a full day then went 2 weeks without recharge and it lasted another full day with enough charge to pull all the data before recharge).

I've been really pleased with mine so far.

I see the same thing with my Solo2DL. 5 days ago, I was at 90% battery, and now it's at 30% battery, just sitting in OFF in my drawer. Since I have the DL, I keep in plugged into the OBD2 while in use, so it's usually not an issue. But weird it should self discharge so fast.

Sounds like the issue might be limited to the dl. Interesting.

What kind of storage space do you have on them before they start writing over old data? I seem to have lost my data from my first 2 tracks last year, i didn't think I was anywhere near "running out" of space with only 5 events on it.

Thinking aim starting up with the key when plugged in may end up recording lots of false laps. Drives me nuts.

No. I did and regret it. Battery life is worst, it feels slower overall, buttons feel cheaper...keep the v1.

I have a MyChron5 on my kart and never had an issue other than battery life which must be an AIM thing in general. I got sick of removing it from the steering wheel to recharge and fitted the external power lead and just trickle charge the karts battery instead....

Its been great for the data side of things so thinking its time the car got something similar. Would pair it up with a Smartycam, despite the price, the convenience of auto record and easy videos with data overlay does appeal to my laziness.

Shame you can't add external sensors for stuff like oil pressure but given I've never monitored it in 6 years, not really worried about it now!

Wasn't obvious to me from the user manual but can you have one side of the LED's as a shift light and the side for laptime splits?

Has anyone made a bracket so you can mount it above the steering column?

Seems to be a few people not overly happy with the device, assuming you'd never seen or used the V1, would you still say not to buy the V2?

I just got mine and set it up. It didn't look there was any option in Race Studio 3 to configure it so each LED column was different. You could choose either/or, and then both columns light at the same time.

I haven't seen one yet, but that would be cool. I mounted mine to the windscreen in the far left corner and extended it so it'd be just above the dash. Seems to be an okay spot (similar to where people in other Subarus mount a Cobb AP).

I'll update the thread after my first track day with it, probably this weekend. So far it seems pretty neato to me. Definitely beats the data I was getting out of a Kiwi 3 + Harry's Lap Timer.
