@strat61caster - the Canepa event seems to attract a lot of Porsches. Saw everything from a 356 to a GT3, and everything in between. Also saw an S2000 with a Viper engine.

Just got to work after having my first oil change done. I decided to have it at Subaru just for the first time to keep things OEM oil-wise (I know I could've done it elsewhere but meh).

Things went okay.... IF YOU DON'T CONSIDER SCREWING UP MY SEAT AND MIRRORS TERRIBLE!

Argh, so irritating. I was getting into my car and literally fell in because the back was all the way pointed backwards and the seat was probably lowered all the way, and the seat was pushed all the way back.

I’m sure we’ll be at the same event sooner or later.
If you haven’t been to Canepa, definitely check it out next year!
I actually went to one this summer! But I'll definitely come back next year.

Funny thing ... I didn't even know you could raise or lower the seat

Expect that every time you get work done at a shop. This is why I do my own oil changes

Yeah it's the lever before the adjustment to lean back near the front left of the driver's seat. You pump it down/up to adjust.

Haha yeah, it's pretty handy for a "dumb" seat with manual adjustments

If it's anything like the Crosstrek, you'd be a fool not to do it yourself.

Correction - There is some value in taking it to a shop in that they'll inspect things that you might not if you're just changing your oil and not poking around elsewhere.

Honestly wish the seats would go a bit lower. I always have to scrunch down with my helmet on at the track. I'm only 6 ft tall. Guess this is what I get for being into small Japanese sport cars.

Yeah I've got a buddy that's 6'4" and he wants a small car someday (still in school right now) but when he rode in my car his hair was touching the headliner, no way he'd get a helmet on without some serious effort

If you're ~6'2" the 86 can work if your proportions are right, much bigger than that though and I suspect it's a struggle.

Luckily the Germans design for big people so I think that might be the way to go for him, BMW or Porsche in all likelihood. In the third gen Mini Cooper my gf has to sit with the seat all the way up or her feet don't reach the firewall to keep her in place, I think I sit with the seat up at the front 1/4 of the sliders on that thing

The Yaris just passed 40k on the way to work. FRS has been sitting with 56k iirc. Lol

Also adds to resale value since it'll be on the CarFax. With that said, I always do my own maintenance. Haha
