Oh there is not much of a difference then.. I grew up dreaming living in the US were fuel is cheaper than water

There were campaigns here that says "this car uses the most expensive fuel in the world".. Now I think it was a lie. Like other political lies we are surrounded with:

Anyway, your country is still very cool. You have great ice creams

This is a first for me. I'm on FT86Club from work since it's a slow day today. I'm pretty happy to be paid for doing absolutely nothing.

I'm so tired I can't sleep. The weather here is getting nicer, so time to start driving the fun cars.

I think I'm going to do some cone racing this season. The SCCA here has about 20 autox a season at the Boise fairgrounds. When I would cone race in San Jose, all the events were like a 2 hour drive away. That was one of the reasons why I quit years ago. Boise fairgrounds is only 20 minutes away. I won't be competitive with the twin with all the mods. If I remember correctly, just the fact that I have a rear seat delete will put me in modified, but I don't care. Last thing I need is more bowling trophys. I just want to go have some fun, and meet more car guys.

That's awesome. If anything just to have fun ripping it around an open lot and work on more handling. Hope you can meet some cool people there!

So last week the day I was waiting in the airport in Tokyo for my flight home to the States, I found out my grandmother (89ish) has a new, inoperable brain tumor that has suddenly appeared/grown sometime in the past 7 months.

One set of grandparents passed, and while I felt emotional about it at the time it wasn't as strong a feeling since I hadn't known them as closely. But this set of grandparents I basically grew up with.

It's really rough for me because while I've known the past few years that we're getting closer to "the end" for them, I haven't been spending as much time with them as I could have been. And now I know for sure I have limited time with my grandmother, and I highly doubt my grandfather will go for much longer after she passes.

It's hard to reconcile that they'll both be gone sooner than later, now. But I know they both lived long, good lives as adults; my grandfather suffered with his family in Germany during the Holocaust, and then fought as an American at 16 during WWII, landed on D-Day (almost drowned since he couldn't swim), was captured, etc., but after that era he lived a solid life as well.

As a doctor once told me, "life's a bitch and then you die." I think it's true in part, but it's good to try and recognize life isn't _always_ a bitch, it's possible to enjoy many decades just as it's possible to live through hard life experiences.

Anyway sorry for ranting about it, just kind of have it on my chest at the moment.

The group I do autox with is pretty lenient with some mods, and dead set on being lame about others. My suspension, wheels, exhaust and aero puts me in A-Mod (low power, rwd, pretty much miata vs twin class) but, the fact I have a tune puts me into C-Mod ("All cars as listed above in C-Stock and C-Stock Plus class with modifications not permitted in Stock class. Also includes any A or B family cars with internal engine and/or boost modifications, as well as engine swaps from the same manufacturer (ie: Honda B-Series in Civic, Nissan SR20 in 240sx)." along with big power cars like euro coupes and sedans, as well as non V8 muscle cars).

I'm not competitive in class, but I have a lot of fun between driving, shooting the shit and marshaling.
