I just drilled 17 holes in my brand new car. 13 for the OEM arm rest and 4 for the front license plate holder. Also I installed the 86 Speed hood struts last week. I will also say that they work perfectly fine. Only time will tell if they are as bad as I have heard. But I suppose they will be just fine

I just don't find myself doing a lot under the hood of my car. I check the oil level about every other month. A few times a year I open the hood to look for something that a forum poster is talking about. Oh, yes, when I first got the car, I opened the hood once because my brother wanted to see what a FA20 engine looked like. As far as hood struts, I suppose they are OK, and if someone wanted to give me a set and install them, I would be OK with that. Meanwhile, I feel the hood prop does what I want it to do and I even think it's kind of old time-ie quaint. humfrz |

For what it's worth, I've had them on my car for 2 years and aside the stickers peeling, they work great. They even work in temps as low as -20F so far. Probably one of my favorite mods for any car that doesn't come with them.

I can probably agree with that. If I got a new (used, let's not be silly) FR-S tomorrow, by Monday I will have ordered a one piece drive shaft, hood struts, and a fumoto valve.

I've always wanted to buy a different driveshaft but my mind is seated since I know mine "works". I love drivability mods. If you have one, sway me please! I bought the m85 diff and some new bushings for it, may as well replace the rolling pin too.

I think my one piece shaft is smoother.

Sapphirehero is right. One piece is smoother engaging and less noisy. My stock shaft had lots of play. I can't say my aluminum driveshaft shop one made the car faster but it did improve my driving experience. And for $350or whatever, it's a must in my opinion. If you have patience, you can get em used. I sold mine a couple months ago cuz it won't fit my LS build

Fortune Auto 500. Blackworks LCA, J2 trailing & toe, whiteline endlink, Perrin sway bar. Had to hacksaw and use a boltcutter on the OEM toe ball joint bolt. Then it was short enough for my ball joint separator. Other than that, the install went fairly smooth. I'm excited about installing the parts on the front next. More pics soon...
EDIT: PIC RESOLUTION UPGRADE

Refinished TRD wheels for my son. Two were slightly curbed. All had paint chipping that is apparently common with these. Sanded, scuffed, filled, cleaned and painted with a General Motors GunMetal color that was close as I could find. Just a bit lighter than the OEM TRD color. Still need to paint the barrels, apply the red to the sunken TRD center cap emblems and clear coat all.
I have not decided wether to clear them with a Satin or Matte clear. Suggestions? |

The only good thing is the matte finish hides the brake dust better but that's on a matte black finish and you are doing silver. |
