I thought of a really cool header design and I wanted your opinions. I know that runner length and exhaust scavenging make a huge different, but I'm also looking for insane sound. I designed some pipes that bolt up in a J shape and bypass the rest of the exhaust. Essentially like running without any headers. I haven't tested it yet as I'm still 3D printing the pieces, but what kind of tuning problems do you think I will run into?

None, as long as you go F.I... (also I hope your 3D printer can do metal...)

F.I.? idk what that means. new here.

Why would 3D printing metal matter?

F.I. = Fuel Injection. Some newer cars incorporate that methodology instead of a carburetor, mostly based on the government's recommendations after some studies showed that Amercans were consuming too many carbs. Our cars, sadly, are still a carb-rich unhealthy environment, so finding a way to directly inject badly needed fuel for instantly accessible energy instead of relying on slow-burning carbs (found primarily in the large servings of torque dip consumed while driving our vehicles) is just one of many ways to increase your car's longevity and overall health.

Also, you need 3D printing metal because otherwise your exhaust idea would only work in two dimensions; driving up or downhill while simultaneously turning would cause your 2D printed metal parts to enter a dimension they were never intended to enter. Additionally, you can't possibly annoy people around you enough with 3D printed jazz, fusion, Baroque, or Opera. It needs to be metal.

I don't think you know what you're talking about. I've been working on cars for 30 years, boy. I just came here to share my idea, not get school lesson on things you think you know because of wikipedia. I suggest you read up on mechanics before you try to give me advice.

Besides, my 3D printed headers will be insane and you'll be jealous when I'm swimmin in bank.

I think a better idea may to print up some headers that just join all the exhaust ports together with no exit at all. You would gain massive amounts of compression by just recycling all that back pressure and the weight savings on all that unneeded tubing and metal would be like gaining 50 hp.

Everyone knows you don't 3d print header pipes, you use an extruder.
