This is from one of the magazine test drives.

The driver looks very serious and concentrated for someone taking a turn at 2400rpm.
The 86 emblem in the steering wheel I like, it's also an easy way for them to keep it standard between toyota and scion, fewer changes = cheaper manufacturing.

Btw, there is a 3 below the 46 km/h readout. 3rd gear?

So 2400 in 3rd gear = 46 km/h? Makes sense.

I would expect a current gear indicator in the auto version but this is clearly the 6-speed. if so, cool.

The tail lights don't look as bad as some people are saying. But these renders look pretty spot on, especially since they have the interior photos. I dont really like the car door guard on the modelista model tho....

Indeed, that would be a nice touch. Even though once you get to know the car, you feel what gear you are in so you won't mis-shift, but a nice touch nonetheless.
The joke I was making though was that at 2400rpm, and especially in 3rd gear, you have little to no power. It looks more like a lazy Sunday drive than a proper test drive.

I hope that Toyota will have proper test drive events for this car. After all, how well can you get to know the car with a sales person sitting right next to you.

it could just be that he is more reclined?

anyone notice the column is kinda flush with the dash? doesnt look like the steering wheel is telescoping...

Well this pic was taken from Autocar's test drive in May so headrest could differ because they changed it? I hope we don't get the headrest from the Modellista brochure either...

if we assume this was a purposeful leak by toyota it wouldnt be too surprising if they cut off just enough of the name from the pic.

anyone else (who has better japanese lol) able to make out any signs of the cars name?

Toyota 2000gt is an old car from the 70s I think (someone help me out) with a limited number of production models

First time posting on this forum, but I gotta say the back lights just ruin it for me. Hopefully an aftermarket taillight will be made to replace it but with it sticking out so far all I can think of is walking out of my apartment to find someone using my taillight as a coaster for their beer...

I hope the car makes a better impression in person.

As it appears, the silhouette looks to my eye like the lines of your basic 350z/370z. Which is to say: a fastback jelly bean. ("Fastback"? Anyone remember the '60s? ) What happened to "a small Maserati"? Relegated to the dustbin of prototype sketches, one imagines. Also, I would point out (again) that the height of the front hood looks rather tall. Maybe it's not in real life, however.

I remember that. The guys said that the BRZ looked like a mini-maseratti. My concern is that the FR-S kinda looks like a mini-maseratti so I hope they don't look too similar.
