For 3 quarts of oil? What a joke. Hopefully I can find some around here cheaper.

Is this range not good or exceeds other fluid recomendations? My Cali cold "lol" 1-2 shifts are alot better than stock with the Amsoil.. Car is garaged though, so it never gets truly "cold" at all.

and why do any of you think this will solve the issue?
No one seems to have nailed what the issue is(I know what I am troubleshooting, do you?)
I wouldnt go sticking shit in to see if it works..

its not a defect, but at the same time is a curable symptom

The Amsoil is twice as thick as Pentosin MTF-2 in all temps. Maybe the Pentosin works well because it is thin.

if the mt-90 worked so good why would you take it out?
the poster who ran amsoil, did you even check viscosity at 40c?

Enjoy it!
I took the MT-90 out because I could feel a change in the 1-2 shift as the temperatures were starting to approach the freezing point in the AM. I wanted to try something a little thinner to see if it would be better for the colder months. I didn't want to waste a bunch of money to find out, so I used what I had in the garage. The car liked it, so I ordered 3 liters of Pentosin early this week. One came in yesterday, the other two should be here Monday. I'm looking forward to trying it out.
The 2-3 crunch (more of a click than a crunch) that was there with the OEM fluid disappeared when I put the MT-90 in it. It came back with the thinner oil, BUT the cold weather feel is improved. I'm hoping the Pentosin will bridge the gap.

Part of me really wants to replace the factory diff fluid with Royal Purple/Motul/etc. stuff and another part of me says why bother when Subaru master tech tells me that those fluids are good for the life of the car and shouldn't need to be replaced. Decisions decisions...

The statement of this tech makes little sense and has no basis in fact. But let me ask you this: Why would you want to believe such a thing? To save money? That is to say, to save $5-$20?

Haven't confirmed, but doesn't it state in he manual that the diff and trans fluids are good for lifetime? That's what I've read on these forums and that's what the Subaru tech told me.

well if a tech told you ..well....
...
simple-then dont change your fluid if you believe its "lifetime fill"

then again, I swap out the BMW and audi lifetime fill fluids, religiously replacing both with factory fill. Happens to be both cars use Pentosin from the factory as well, thats what audi and bmw consider their 'lifetime fluid' for what its worth
