Go for it guys! I'm sure you won't be dissapointed! The resonator is a must if you're going to change to a catless header, unless you don't mind the rasp Here's a couple of pictures of the install:

Installed my Borla UEL header today. The boxer rumble is awesome! Took a couple of vids. I have the Milltek full system - overpipe, front pipe and resonated catback.

I have a question to you people, boys ánd girls, that have the resonated version. I noticed most of you that posted vids comment it sounds better irl and that the mic doesn't record the bassy tones.

Please watch this vid of the Perrin that was recorded with professional equipment (thanks DSPORT) and tell me if the Milltek sounds similar irl (both tone and volume) or not:

When I get mine, the Milltek should be my first mod... Thanks!

It's hard to compare because while they might have used professional equipment to record the video, our speakers are different, so what you are hearing might sound different from what I'm hearing.

However, I do think the Milltek resonated exhaust sounds closest to the Perrin. They have a similar layout and design. I've searched youtube for an exhaust that sounded similar to mine, and it turned out to be Perrin. I then searched for a clip of the Perrin resonated exhaust with UEL headers, so I knew what to expect when my header arrived.

Thanks for the reply. I use studio headphones to listen to exhaust clips, so should get out all the quality there is...

I did notice you have the full system with intake. I am looking at the Milltek Cat-back resonated version. Any feedback on those?

My current idea was to combine the Milltek resonated cat-back with the Injen intake. That way I am hoping to get a much better sounding but still relatively very quiet car, while gaining significant HP with all the cats still in place and without needing a tune, so keeping my car as clean and factory-like as possible. Should work?

Yes, it should work. However I would recommend getting a Perrin, AEM or Takeda intake instead of the Injen. Some people have had idle and bogging problems with the Injen using the stock tune. The Perrin was designed to work with the stock tune, however it is more complicated to install, requiring bumper removal.

Thanks. The Takeda sounds "really nice, deep" acc. to Dsport and actually had better results there than the Injen (they vary). Also like the dry filter option, OEM look and that it uses the OEM snorkel.

Still looking for feedback on the resonated Milltek Cat-back. On few vids I found it perhaps seems almost too quiet but that could be deceiving. Just nice if you can just hear it inside, that's kinda the whole point with it (stock you only hear the intake IMO)

The dry filter is the main reason I went with the Takeda. If you find the resonated exhaust too quiet, you can always change out the front pipe and gain a little more sound. The stock front pipe has a cat and a muffler. According to the Milltek website, the car should still pass EU emmissions testing even without the second cat.

I think you just sealed the deal with what setup I want. I owned an STi prior hand to the FRs and miss the boxer rumble. My question is though, in the cabin, does it ever get too obnoxious? Drone? I don't wanna feel like I have to yell at a friend just so he can hear me.

It's not at all obnoxious inside the cabin. No drone at all. It's still very civilized
