so I`m a total newb when it comes to electronics... does the antenna have anything to do with the reception of the navigation? I never use the radio but navigation reception is something critical for me...

ok, read the earlier thread and it looks like the navi GPS is in the headunit.

I have access to dry carbon manufacturing and a 3D printer and would like to know how many of you would buy the antenna if I made one. I`m not set up as a vendor yet so please PM me.

I really would like to make one for myself but would like to be able to sell a few if I spend a lot of time/effort designing one for myself.

I definitely want something like this that's is a good fit, add me to your interest list! Seems no major vendors/makers are interested and IMO they're missing out!

so, please correct me if I`m wrong but in order for this to work I would need to make:

flat style housing
inner core that fits all the frs/brz internal components properly
harness/wires

is this correct?

Seems correct. Count me in as well if this ever comes to pass.

I sent an email to BeatSonic last week, but they responded with (paraphrasing):

Thanks for the response, but our production pieces are low cost and high quality. If we were to design something along these lines, we would need to include new innards and that would raise the price to something that wouldn't be considered affordable. I will however pass on this email to our design team to see if anything is possible, thanks!

Make it long enough to fit a nice bright third brake light at the back and you have guaranteed major sales.
