Ah good, I'm glad someone found one. I had to set mine to full recirculate so it doesn't shoot methanol all over my turbo lol

Oil Capacity Question...

How much additional oil does the Stage 1 system hold. Also, how much is held by the AVO oil cooler?

Hey which type of oil were you running when you had your vehicle tuned with the avo turbo kit? I'm still running the 0w20 and was wondering if I should change it. I'm running around 100 extra hp/tq with my tune btw

I asked avo turbo world the same question when I installed my turbo kit. They told me I should be good with the same amount of oil, 5.7qts. But I'm not sure about the oil cooler. There are some guys on here that were saying they were running around 6 qts of a litte over six qts.

Hey, what kind of oil are you running with your set up? I'm still running the 0w20 with 100 extra tq and whp over stock. I'm just wondering if I should change it to something heavier. I've been running it for 4k miles no issues

It depends on how big the cooler itself is, but I would say probably another litre or so

I was running motul 300v 0w20 all summer with a few track events in there. It worked fine, however, when the temps got up there the pressure started to drop. I switched to Amsoil Signature 0w30 a month or two ago and I think I'll stick with it due to the slight increase in high temp oil pressure.

I would of stuck with 300v but it doesn't come in 0w30

I recommend all FI people to go with 5w-30. Subaru uses 5w-30 on their FA20DIT motor. Unless you live in really cold climate, then go with 0w-30.

Just add oil till the dipstick reads full when you install the oil cooler and then do oil changes as normal. The oil in the lines and cooler will remain during oil changes, so oil amount should be the same as prior to installing it.

There's a pretty awesome thread about Oil Starvation in the engine sub-fourm that touches on which oil should be used and when (along with other topics)

Its's the AVO cooler I'm actually asking about so I'm hoping Paul might know the details...

Silly question. Is it possible to install the intercooler without taking off the front bumper? There's a whole thread on guys ending up with ill fitting bumpers after removing it....apparently the sides doesn't line up perfectly once the bumper is re-fitted.

Another question. If buying an AVO kit that includes a base map, all I'll need to get running is a license yea (I can borrow the cable from buddy)? Is the license country specific? I mean can I buy the license from the US and use it in Australia?

I plan to just run with the base map for time being, but if I want to tune it later on I would need to just pay for the cost of a tune, plus dyno time, yes?

And does anyone know if an Australian ecutek tuner is restricted from tuning a car that doesn't have local license?

Good luck with that, haven't heard anyone with good experiences with MRT overlords by doing that.
