If you still have it after i close on my house then I might just buy it from you. I can't do anything at all until then.

The truck deals were a little better for me a couple months ago because they had a $2k lease conquest program going on. Now they have a GM truck loyalty program.. and since I don't own a GM truck currently I don't get the extra funds. It's still an amazing deal.. $38k msrp truck for around $200 a month. but not as good as it was before.. I think I could have gotten one for like $169 a month.

Still I could see doing a lease on a volt as well. 10k per year would cover my drive to and from work. If it was like $250 a month or so with almost no gas out of pocket.. and I think the tax credits and free 220 charging system make it really attractive.. if those still exist for a lease

the only problem is that I hate driving the volt. Those regen brakes drive me nuts.. and that stupid plastic touch sensitive dash.. yuck!!!

That sounds interesting. All those torques right from 0 rpm must be addictive.

I've driven two generations of Prius and a Volt, so I have some experience with the torque and lack of noise that you get in a hybrid or electric car.. The difference is that those cars are very slow and terrible handling and not very luxurious. The Tesla on the other hand..... I can't wait to see it.

Those model S's are impressive to say the least. I love my volt, I think it's a perfect complementary utilitarian vehicle to go with the BRZ. I think it is just a very pleasant place to be, and my son is loving the piece and quiet riding around in it.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but electric cars have one HUGE flaw. Once you buy it if you put any amount of time or miles in/on the car don't expect to sell it. No one will buy used versions of these cars with any amount of miles on them because the battery has a shelf life and a big ass price tag. So if you buy a used version of an electric car and it requires a battery anytime in the next 3 years you just ate the price of the car over again. Now keep in mind this doesn't detract from how cool the Tesla cars are and how practical the Volt is, and if you plan on using these until they die, it will be worth it.

On a side note, Woodward activity is getting crazy. They have hot dog carts out selling food in the Shell station parking lot. There was a good 200+ people in the Men's Warehouse parking lot and there was non stop drag racing. If you step outside of my house all you can hear is engines.

I'll have to make the trip out to woodward one night sounds like a good time. My friend owns a tattoo shop in Fenton and is having an open house with raffles and prizes for charity tomorrow. He says that if any one shows up with an FR-S/BRZ he will give us special parking to show them off sense I have the only one in this area and a lot of people have been wanting to check them out up here. PM for the address and details if anyone is going to be up this direction tomorrow.

Simple solution: 3 year lease.

And it's not as detrimental as you think, pack prices will come down significantly by the time they need to be replaced in large quantities. Right now replacement packs are very expensive but they are also under warranty for 10 years 100k miles.
