Going to be driving up to Sac for the first time. Apparently going on 680N has tolls? If I'm going at a time light with traffic am I better off taking 880 -> 80 or 580 to 5?
Kinda don't want to deal with tolls. |

If you go 880->80, I think you'll still have a toll since you'll be going over the Carquinez bridge (vs the Benicia bridge if you go 680->80). Going 580-205-5 will probably take longer even if there's light traffic, but if you're not in a rush and really hate going thru tolls, I guess it's an option. I just kept my FasTrack since I go over to the bay every once in a while.

By light traffic do you mean around noon or in the middle of the night? I usually drive up from San Jose or Palo Alto to Sacramento a few times a month anytime between 1-4AM and both tolls are usually pretty empty, however one time around midnight on 680N there was a mile long line of standstill traffic for the non-fastrak lanes and I had to ditch a friend that was driving behind me as he didn't have a fastrak, right after I was telling him on the phone that the toll booths are usually empty at night. Every other time I've taken 680N at night it has only had a few cars at the toll booth. Another thing is the stretch of 580 north of the bay bridge usually has some traffic in the dead of night, but I've only been caught in it twice. |

Haha maybe some other time when I have more time to kill. Need to get to Sac by a certain time. Quote:
Guess I'll probably just do 680 and see how it goes. |

I do want to be seen when I switch lanes, especially in the FR-S since people can't seem to see me.
Then again, I don't drive it too much, really only drive it to meets now days, so in reality, probably once a month now. So that's why I'm debating on buying the new switch backs or not. haha. I don't want to drive it to work since parking sucks and I don't want to get door dings. |

The 80 and 50 sucks, so watch out. Some unavoidable 3" steps on the lanes. I always find there to be traffic in Vacaville, Dixon/Davis, and on the causeway. Have fun =P |

During the white mode, they're almost as good as factory fog lights (keep in mind, they aren't fog lights). |

Nice and cloudy this morning. Perfect weather for a car wash. Planning to wax it tonight.

Went ahead and pre-ordered the V6 Triton switchback. I'll either sell the Morimoto ones I have now, or throw them into my bro's Prius c (my Yaris doesn't have any dual filament bulbs).
