We I'll probably be close to 500 hp. I know there are 17x9.5 wheels but not very many choices.

It's also about wide enough tires that don't have super tall sidewalls on 17s. Why do t you want 18s??

Tires are less expensive. I don't know, I was under the impression that the bigger you go the more show it is and not as much performance.

Question wheel & tire noob

After reading through the entire thread I think I may get it or I've just confused myself lol. Figured, I'll just ask specifically what I'd like to know.

The wheels I like are 18x9.5 and come in both a +35 and +40 offset. I planned on lowering the car on TRD springs only. Will a square setup work w/ out any rubbing issues (mainly in the front, since that's where it seems the issue lies) or the need for other modifications like fender rolling, etc? If so, what would be the meatiest tires I could use (once again, I'd like a square setup instead of staggered) to go along w/ them?

If the 9.5 is too wide for the front to fit w/ TRD springs as opposed to coils, what would be the best staggered setup I could get to work (wheel & tire)?

Thanks for the help in advance & I apologize for the noob questions. It's been a long couple days lol. Loving everyone's pics & setups. The whole meaty tire look is absolutely amazing.

Will this fit stock? Also, I'm planning on getting Hotchkis springs to lower the car about an inch, hence why I have a 1inch drop. I just want to know, with the amount of poke, do I have to worry about the tire hitting the fender? It is a +20 offset wheel that I want.

18x9.5s will rub your stock front struts unless you go crazy offset with a bunch of poke. Square setups are best in my opinion. The car handles well and rotation means getting the most miles out of a set.
I have three square sets. Stock, 18x8s with 225s and 18x9.5s with 255s. I will probably try the staggered setup in 2015 for shits and grins at an autocross or two.

Even with 265 hankook rs3's my 525whp/415tq is absolutely useless. Also have a set of 255 nitto nt05's on 17x9 and they are useless as well. At 400whp, I could manage by peddling. I have Mickey Thompson et street radials for the rear for next season. I'm over the rolling burnout game lol

I had 265/35/18 on 18x9.5 et43 and a 275/35 should have cleared I believe. -2 camber front, -2.2 rear

Yes, that's about the widest you can get with just suspension mods and no fender mods. Good luck!

Is +20 off set crazy enough?
