This is my somewhat educated guess.. It's based off the Z4 chasis which starts off around 49.7k MSRP. I believe the last I heard it was going to have the engine from the M3/M4 which starts off at a 65.7k MSRP. From the looks of it and like I said making an educated guess I hoping they are wanting to compete more with the new corvette in pricing 55k MSRP but after all said and done it could be anywhere between that 55k-65k mark with roughly another 5k mark up from the dealers. So my final guess is around 60-70k brand new once released. I hoping it's more around the 50k mark because I would be looking to buy one used 1 year later for a more reasonable price.

Actually though, no, it's far worse. NA Supras are much slower than FRS, even stock for stock.

If I'm right and the FT1 releases around that price I will more than likely stop the frs build and save all my monies for FT1

I'll cosign on that.

I think it's more appropriate to look at the sDrive35i/s which starts at $57,5k with a ceiling around $73,7k and an average selling price around $61k. Between potential savings in shared development costs and parts sharing and if Toyota plans to utilize whatever power plant they build in other vehicles (maybe in the Tundra for an EcoBoost competitor?) I think the FT1 being a halo and all will come in around $63k with a ceiling at $70k if it ditches some of its exotic propositions. But Toyota needs a halo sports car, a showcase for tech and extraordinary production - hell their Mirai (apples to chestnuts, I know) has an MSRP of $57,5k. Keep the hybrid V6 twin turbo mated to a dual clutch transaxle system in a carbon fiber reinforced body and this will be a righteous 911 fighter or $100k entry-super car all day long. There are plenty enough buyers to support that and it gives Toyota some super street cred again.

Well, I'm just going off of driving experience. My brother has a 94 NA 5-Speed that I have had the pleasure of driving extensively. The powerband is surprisingly peaky, especially considering the displacement, and feels absolutely gutless under 5500, even compared to the FRS/BRZ. We also took both cars to the local 1/8th mile and the Supra was about 0.4-0.5 seconds slower. Granted, I was running a header+exhaust and an E85 tune back then, so I was probably making more power than him as well. My brothers and I have owned 10 Supras between us over the years and this 94 was the first and last NA car we'll be owning. Once you've driven a turbo car, the experience just isn't the same in an NA car.

Regardless, we're getting off topic here. New Supra! Fingers crossed it'll be fast, even if it comes in a slower configuration!

MotorTrend ran the NA Supra at the tracks @14.6 sec in the 1.4 mile. Having a good driver also plays a role.
