I'm in the same boat as you. Ordered 22 June, same spec/colour, from a regional NSW dealer. I was told a Sept build/Oct delivery was unlikely, more likely to expect Nov delivery. Now been told it's pushed back to potentially December delivery, and still listed as 'On Order' in the web tracker.

I don't think Toyota has had to deal with such demand for a car in over a decade. After all, there aren't many people kicking down the doors for a new Camry.

I was told yesterday when I picked up my GTS that Toyota had instructed them to start telling people that there's a 3 year wait for a GTS now.. THREE YEARS.

Toyota had similar issue last year filling the fj cruiser orders. So it didn't learn from the past experience.

So it seems white GTS manuals are being dealt the longest waiting times. Anyone know how long the wait could be for white GTS autos? Ordered 23rd June and recently been told November build, but I dont have high hopes of it.

Your web tracking can confirm whether it is november build or not. It should show November as planned production month by now.

Just out of curiousity.
Mine is velocity orange. Although I much prefer the American name of Hot Lava (it impresses my 2yr old boy anyway)

Don't get me wrong. From a customer perspective I don't think that it is acceptable at all. I'm merely pointing out how from various dealers perspective this is the only viable way. I ordered first week of june and still have no production date on my car. While others on this very forum already have theirs. If people want to stand on some kind of customer principle i'm happy to take their place given how early i ordered compared to some.

Yes Rural deals sell other cars as well. And yes they wont go bankrupt because they make money on other cars. BUT why would they sell the 86 at all if it was financially non beneficial. Is it fair on the rural dealer to sell cars at a loss or a rural enthusiast to not get a car from their local dealer at all?

Except it wouldn't be necessary. FIFO would basically ensure that customers who ordered from rural dealerships would be getting their cars by now-- They're often not, by the way. If you ordered first week June you should have been allocated a car before unallocated ones went to dealerships. Rural dealers wouldn't be missing out under a FIFO model. People would get their cars as they were queued-- Not whenever their dealer got allocated one. City dealers would NOT get preference under FIFO. First orders would get preference. There's a difference.

I'm obviously unable to express myself properly. I will leave this at this point. Enjoy your car.
