Have you had a sniff around at what's different?

I mean in general not just the Gs. I ask because I'm getting flashed from 700c to b01c Saturday at the dealership

Functionally, I can't tell everything that is different. Most of them mapping values are the same. But the locations for the tables are completely different which is enough to make using the .dev file approach difficult. If you are getting updated to bo1c on Saturday, you can load up our v1.54 maps no problem since it supports that ROM type.

Just make sure you flash your ECU back to it's original file (using OFT) BEFORE you go to the dealership. This is because you will need to erase and re-install the OFT after you get updated at the dealership. If you do not flash your original file back in, the OFT will not allow you to erase it.

Yeah I had planned on not only flashing back to stock but also clearing the oft and loading 1.54 so I could try it out after I pickup the car. Question. The dev file is essentially an instruction set on how to build your tunes based on the tune which is on the car right? So it'll build based on the B01C right? But it'll say A01C in the generated tunes?

Correct. Although your tuned map file will have B01C as the suffix. All B family ROMs get updated to B01 and A family ROMs get updated to A01.

What is this B01C business? Are they reflashing older cars with this rom at the dealers? Service bulletin?

Using Open Flash logging and OBD ELM 327 at same time

Seem to remember some time back someone wanting to run the OFT logging and another OBD device at the same time.

Anyhow found my OBD splitter cable and tried it out works fine logging on OFT and using torque or OBD DASH app via ELM327 blue toothed to Android tablet or phone

not sure why you would want too but you can , would not try this while flashing a ROM though !

not to mention all the cables under the dash

Oh... the RPM dip was taken care of after the first time I reflashed using OFT. I don't think I'll be needing this B01C update. Not sure if this will be forced on me the next time I go for my free oil change...

How does your logs look like when running 2 different apps simultaneously? Do they alternate signals or do both still work at the same speed? Not sure what the update frequency is, but looking at my logs it seems to be around 10-11 times per second logging with the OFT alone.

If you don't request it you won't get it. I want off 700c so I asked for it.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I'm gonna be a wreck when Bax's time comes. Agreed best dogs ever.

I'll run a test and see, the torque logging via Bluetooth is pretty slow maybe 2 times a second so its unlikely to slow down the OFT

Pitbulls are wonderful dogs. A good friend of mine organizes a rescue effort for them. Also wonderful (and over-bred unfortunately) as German Shepards. Here's our beautiful office dog, Kenya (a rescue of course!) guarding this morning's OFT shipments.
