Even the traffic info isn't an advantage. You can get that with a dedicated GPS as well.

No dedicated NAV, and only iPhone support on release is a deal killer for me.

In a car like this i could careless about Nav. Only time i like Nav is in a Auto luxury car. I just use my phone anyway GPS works great for me at least. And it only suporting the current Iphone not a big deal to me at least.

That will depend on the traffic services used by the different devices and your location. In my area there have been problems reported with the real-time traffic info on the Garmins. Plus the traffic-enabled models are more expensive.

True, but not $900 expensive. I have one that does it I purchased for <$200. It does require a subscription though.

Both of these are definitely a personal choice, I agree. I don't like phone based nav except for casual/emergency use. I've had it interrupted/lost satellites way too many times, and its always right when you need it most.

As for as iPhone only support, well, that's like discussing religion. We'll just have to agree to disagree and remain friends!

Weird... Should be Cincinnati region, which covers OH, KY, TN and I think IN. Anywho, Karen called me back today and left a message, so I'll call her this afternoon.

Just got a call from my sales guy. He said that the units just showed up on their system for the second week of May! He also said they were getting 2, but wasn't sure if the second one was a customer unit or a demo unit.

Southeast Region.

Should have added, he has no VIN yet, which means they probably aren't tires dry at this point. But given the timeframe we've been given for shipping to the East Coast, they have to at least be in-route.

Interesting, makes me wonder if the May 18th deadline is because they plan to start selling the cars on May 20th to general public...

The Portland thread mentions 100 FR-Ses, but that can't include all First 86 because we know some are being shipped to different ports.

What are they going to do with the extras?

Marketing kickoff is supposed to be 6/1. I'm guessing the extra are demos that won't be available for immediate sale.

Soooooo, tentatively my pickup date is May 14th at around 4PM. That very well could change several times, but Im pretty excited to atleast have an estimate since Im on the fence about selling my present car privately rather than trade it in.

In addition, he mentioned my manual ultramarine is currently on a ship, bound for California (Long Beach ports I assume)

Congrats on a date! I wonder if we'll all be getting calls from a regional rep?
