I patientley wait for Vortech to respond with a dyno chart... then you all can go have your TC vs. SC pissing matches. Its all about preference. SC can do things Turbos cant and turbos can do things SC cant! end of story.

Here is how I look at the whole turbo v. sc thing.

Turbo=more efficient. It's all about thermodynamics here, yes there is exhaust restriction but you are also capitalizing on heat (exhaust gas is continuing to expand inside the turbine) that would be lost with an sc. This is why recent emphasis of fuel economy has resulted in smaller engines with turbochargers, think Chevy Cruze, Dodge Dart...

Anyway that is not to say that superchargers do not have advantages, especially for aftermarket applications. For one they do not need oil or coolant from the engine, or for that matter a fabricated exhaust manifold, so you have fewer failure modes. You also get to keep your stock cats (both of them) in place, good for trouble free emissions inspections and your conscience.

A centrifugal sc will generally not do much for low end torque, but allows better top end because compression is much more efficient than with a roots blower.

Roots blowers have the advantage on making it honestly just feel like a bigger engine.

A well set up turbo can offer the best torque curve because compressor speed is decoupled from engine speed. But that same decoupling results in a bit of a delay in building torque, typically only noticeable at the low end of the efficiency range.

Personally I am watching both camps and all tuners, I will go with what I think is the best kit for what I am willing to pay.

I do hope that Vortech, Kraftwerks, and Moss (or someone who builds Eaton based kits) all get into the game for this car. Nothing like competition and choices.

I am liking the vortech right now but would like to see a nice roots supercharger setup with about 240 whp and a flat torque curve.

How are you guys accommodating the engine movements under load with this section being mounted to the air box? It doesn't look like there is much room for movement with the air box being mounted to radiator support and so little room between the SC intake and air box.
