Separate question

Anyone bought from Gruppe-S before? Like straight from the seller on the forums?
I'd always take Sun over trees.

I've bought my wheels, coilovers, and rear LCA through them. I forget who I went through with them. Lost them in my contacts. Got a great deal and communication was good. Easy and no fuss.

Yeah, they've been in the game for several years. Legit company.

Should I be concerned that the metal shafts under the rear adjustment knobs on my coilovers already appear to have surface rust on them? I just got them installed in December.

What brand is that? I'd be concerned.

Perhaps I could get them checked out, but I'm not really sure what the fix or solution would be? Replacements that would do the same thing in another 4 months?

Damn, that kind of price, I wouldn't think it would rust like that. I should check my Teins.

Well, you do live on an island surrounded by salt water... I'd say see if they would replace the knobs and make sure they have a good coating of oil when installing them. Won't prevent it from rusting, but should slow it down.

Even my stainless steel Milltek exhaust started was covered in rust after 3 years on the island. Suprisingly, my Ohlins never rusted, those crafty Swedes knew their roads would be covered in road salt lol

How'd the rear get that much moisture?

Wow, that is surprising to me. I was under the impression that 304SS will not rust.

Not sure. Maybe if holes were cut in the tops of the OEM top mounts to allow the shafts to get through, water entered from there somehow. I'll have to take a closer look.

Can confirm: @BigFatFlip's Milltek was like Swiss cheese when I installed it. Still works but I'll probably have to replace the midpipe to front pipe flange eventually.

@Clipdat: there's no rust on my Mann coilovers which are AST 5100 based. How do the inverted front knobs look like? Hopefully they're not rusty, especially since they're exposed to the elements.
