The actuator thing with the lever that goes behind the accelerator and activates the ESC at partial and full accelerator presses.

The bolt is there to just hold the nut that you need. That's all.

Sorry, get my nuts and bolts mixed up...Let's try again...

Right now, behind the accelerator is just the bolt and a nut.

Do I now:
1. Remove the stock nut, place the PWS/Actuator and then put the stock nut back in and tighten, keeping the extra nut that was taped to the PWS as a spare/extr?
2. Put the PWS/Actuator ON TOP OF the stock nut and then use the extra not to tighten down the PWS/Actuator on top of the stock nut?

I hope that makes more sense.

Thanks.

Ah. Use the nut on top of the existing nut. Are you using my install video? It helps a lot.

Man, I watched your vid more often than my favorite porn!...But I just now see that it's your SECOND full install video that has the detailed install of the activation switch.

And another question, my kit doesn't have the drag reduction connection (no connection from the controller and no port off the turbine. I'm guessing this is normal for the v2.0 kits?

Doesn't need it for partial throttle. Also I never want that image in my head again.

Thanks for all the help thusfar Sojhinn, much appreciated.

One more question, which OFT map file to use? I've gone to the OFT downloads page, but I only see an option for tune with OFH+ESC, but none for just the ESC.
http://openflashtablet.com/Automotiv...ads/index.html

Everything stock, unless stated otherwise...I've got FRS with: TRD Exhaust, Crawford BPBs and of course the Phantom ESC and will only be using 93octane.

Thanks.

Do you still have the power bricks still on? You may lose power by keeping them on. As for the tune just use the one that's in the page for ofh + esc.

Run it with it at first just pay attention to your logs. I would recommend removing them and selling them when you can.

Better mileage with the ESC

I've wondered about this too. I'm able to average above 30 MPG only on certain tunes, and only with the boost very low. It's possible to get better city mileage using the boost to help accelerate, but the AVCS valve overlap is critical. I've tested, and proven, that the boost is still used when the cruise control is on, even though the throttle pedal shows zero. There is a temptation to just let the boost push a taller gear up highway hills just because it can, but better mileage is made at lower boost, so downshifting for hills is still recommended. I've been using mathematical gradients to compute profiles, and trial and error to find the maximum valve timing for best power and mileage. The OTS OFT tunes for the ESC are very close. They just need a bit more valve advance from .3 to 1.0 loads, and of course @Wayno's additions for maximum loads, cold starts, and radiator fan limits. I've posted my tunes and throttle maps to try to encourage others to refine and improve them. These cars use the most fuel accelerating just to keep up with traffic in the city, it should be possible to get better city mileage with the help of the ESC's boost to accelerate quicker and more efficiently. @Wayno has made it his mission to get better mileage with E85, and I'm making it my mission to get better mileage with the ESC.

I'm pretty sure I have posted it before but here is my calculated logs (installed ESC on 10/18/2014):

------------------------------------
Gas MPG
12/23/13 27.5
12/24/13 31.2 - trip
01/09/14 25.3
01/28/14 24.9

03/31/14 26.1
04/20/14 25.8
05/12/14 26.5
05/28/14 26.6 - stg 1 flash, K&N installed
06/19/14 25.7
07/12/14 25.5 - batt relocation/reset
08/04/14 27.1
08/24/14 27.2 - stg 2 flash + OFH install
09/16/14 22.0 - stg 2 E85 flash with 2 gallons of premium left in tank
10/08/14 20.1 - 100% E85
10/25/14 20.4 - E85 with 1 gal 93, ESC WOT testing/logging
11/21/14 24.2 - 93 octane
12/14/14 23.4
12/23/14 19.1 - fill up for trip
12/25/14 31.3 - night trip, a few WOT passes
01/09/15 28.8 - night trip + city for a week
02/04/15 23.4
02/27/15 23.8
03/28/15 25.7
04/16/15 26.1
05/12/15 27.2
05/16/15 32.7 - city for a week + night trip
05/22/15 30.9 - city + trip + city
06/15/15 26.6
07/08/15 25.4
08/04/15 25.9

I actually see larger swings in MPG between summer and winter than before after the ESC (winter seems to drop my MPG a lot), *note this is single stage petal switch
