Pauland,

Just bring it to Mike of Autokozmetix. They have changed horns on several 86 and BRZ already. Removing the front bumper takes Mark just 15 minutes to do.

Hi All,

I redid my computation for 98 RON by combining XCS (95 RON) and Blaze (100 RON).

Assuming XCS is P49.60/L and Blaze is P51.50/L to get 98 RON I should put 0.994897959L of XCS for every 1L of Blaze. The above mentioned rates was what I got from my refuel yesterday evening.

Solution A

P958.1929859 of XCS at 19.31840697L
P1,000.0000 of Blaze at 19.41747573L

But to simplify my life I'd put in P950 of XCS and P1,000 of Blaze. It should result in a comfortable 98+ RON. Putting 1L XCS & 1L Blaze would result in 97.5 RON. Putting P960 of XCXS and P1,000 of Blaze would put the mix at a little less than 98 RON.

Solution B

Or if you want to pay P2,000 up front you tell the gas boy to put in P1,022 Blaze and P978 XCS. I'd probably do this as well. That's about 39.56L of fuel.

Our car's tank capacity is 50L. I do not think any one of us will ever run our car until fuel runs out.

Solution C

But if you are so inclined to tap up the fuel tank to 50L all you need to do is 25.07L Blaze and 24.93L XCS at the above prevailing prices. That's about P2,527.62.

Last night I put in P500 XCS and P750 Blaze.

Saw a silver 86 at ATC parking lot at 9PM and a red 86/BRZ at Petron Filinvest Alabang at 1040PM last night.

Sir Booch, wow good service by the shop! Is this the same shop you had your rear fog lights installed? I think i remember you told me before that it was in banawe. The shop with the airconditioned tinting room? Thanks for the tip!

Sir Nikdeng, Mark of Autokozmetix was the one who installed my rear fog lamps. Will contact Mike to check their installation rates. Thank you!

I'm inclined to go with the Kenwood DDX630WBT. It has been installed on numerous 86/BRZ/FR-S/GT86 all over the web with no complaints so far.

But what I want to know with the Kenwood is if I can use Waze/Google Maps/Apple Maps.

I have yet to see the Kenwood use these apps as it appears to depend on the GPS module that is sold seperately. The good thing is the GPS module is made by Garmin but... I dont know if they update it as often as Waze/Google Maps/Apple Maps.

Not to mention it allows for rear camera when putting the car in reverse.

What I dislike about it is the inclusion of CD/DVD. I havent used either in almost a decade. Also the screen isn't 720p.

With how tight the trunk is I wish Toyota/Subaru made a shooting break version of our car.

BTW have your tires checked if you havent done so. I checked last night and the tire pressure varies from 30psi to 40psi. It should be a uniform 35psi.

There's no need to go through all the trouble of mixing fuels just to achieve an exact 98 RON. Just go straight Blaze with 100 RON. Your car will run so much better not to mention mixing different fuel types is not advisable because of the differences in additive properties.

Manual states:

Fuel Type:

Unleaded gasoline (93 AKI [Research Octane Number 98] or higher)
If unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 93 AKI (98 RON) is not available,
unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 91 AKI (95 RON) may be
used with no detriment to engine durability or driveability.

Please note the words "or higher". Even 95 RON is OK if you can live with the cricket sounds.

Hope this helps

You can use Waze with any head unit that has an Aux input, but you will have to navigate using the phone. With the Pioneer head units, you can use the head unit's touchscreen to navigate. I prefer Waze over any other nav program because it gives you real-time traffic updates and warnings

By they way guys if you're installing an aftermarket head unit, use a Toyota wiring harness adaptor and Lexus antenna adaptor so that everything will be plug and play - no wire splicing whatsoever
