Has anyone here with an ESC ever ran any of the short final drives. Such as Cusco or Mfactor 4.55, 4.88, etc?

I know I would like the 4.55 while I run the car NA, but I am curious as to the drivability of the car with the ESC installed. If anyone has any experience please let me know.

I know someone did, but then ended up selling the ESC, I think it was shif7i7down.

I've got 4.88 on my auto with the Phantom and everything works just fine. I wouldn't recommend that combination on the stock tires though.
Let me know if you have any specific questions.

I wouldn't either. The primacy's were off my car the day I bought it. This is my second BRZ, and I already had an order in with Tirerack before I took delivery on my current BRZ.

I run 245 square (probably try 255 next) and I usually run RS3, rivals, or equivalent tires. Do you believe the FD helps wake the BRZ up or do you believe with the ESC it is not needed.

I primarily AX and track this car. It is not my DD, although I do cruise around in it on weekends.

In hindsight would you do the FD again.

He has a auto so his 4.88 will be a massive improvement over the standard gear ratio.

Im pretty sure a FD change in a manual would result in very nice results especially for your application of AX.

With my current setup i fight for traction in 1st when flooring it from a roll on stock tires

For a daily driver, it absolutely makes the car way more fun to drive out of boost, and has the added bonus getting you >2000 rpm that much quicker from a dead stop if you're looking to haul ass. You won't really notice much of a difference (other than having to shift quicker) while in boost just because the contribution the Phantom provides far outshines the final drive's benefits.

When all is said and done, I'd probably do it again. Definitely would if I hadn't gotten the Phantom.

On a track however, and even AutoX if you're competing, it makes sense to do the math and figure out what gearing you need for where you're racing. It's impossible to recommend an effective "across the board" final gear ratio.

That is true. I actually AX( primarily) on a Sheriffs training course. It is much larger than your typical AX course and I see speeds of 70 or 80+mph out there quite often. My wife in the Cayman sees 80 to 90 quite often. So I am in 3rd gear a lot more than the average AXer.

I will never get the gearing just right since our AX location allows for all kinds course layouts.

I have no doubt that it could induce more wheel spin, since I can do that now even if the ESC is not installed......but as long as the FD does not make the car twitchy (bad manners) I can be judicial with the accelerator.

Decisions, Decisions........Well I am definitely doing the OS Giken LSD, but I would love to complete both projects at the same time.

Does the Procede controller come with the necessary accessories to tap into the vehicle wires or do I need to make a trip to Home Depot or something?

Thanks! Luckily it's easy to find on YouTube as well. "Procede ft86" done. Any other advice not in the video or areas to be extra careful?

V2 or v1? V2 is a super easy install.
