As in, the car was on Dealer X's lot, but I'm buying from Dealer Y who's making a swap? That makes sense.

Yikes! I think I paid less than $28,500 (final price, with taxes and fees inc.) for my 2013 Limited Manual and got the car within 10 days (it was already on the way)! Got the color and trim I wanted and no wait! I'm glad I didn't wait for the '14…

My AT is getting ~24 combined, I do probably 30% highway/20% city/50% spirited driving. I haven't had it in drive since.... well a long time lol.

Modern automatics are nearly always in lockup mode. Where you been?

Modern software controls the lockup clutch to be active in all but first gear.

Indeed, Mercedes Benz has a transmission with only a lockup clutch and no torque converter at all. It's a seven speed, equivalent to a torque converter 6 spd and uses a wet plate lockup clutch instead of the dry plate everyone else uses. Mercedes has just announced a 9 spd version to compete with the ZF and Aisin 8 spds.

You'll get way better fuel economy in automatic mode.

Oh I know, on road trips on the interstate its all full auto, but otherwise I like to play while I commute. I still have better mileage compared to the qx4 I used to drive.

So, the '14 Limited no longer has the dual zone AC? it's one basic temperature now?

Not sure where you got that, unless you perhaps read the statement on the release wrong:

"The BRZ Limited substitutes a dual-zone automatic climate control for the Premium model's manual HVAC system...."

I could've sworn that's saying that the dual zone climate was replaced by the manual HVAC. I guess maybe I'm just forgetting my english.

That is exactly what I am reading. It is saying that it is getting rid of the dual zone climate control for the premium model's manual HVAC controls.

I think it is worded odd. I believe it is saying if you buy the Limited, it substitutes the manual HVAC in the Premium with the dual zone automatic.

doesnt' that mean that in the BRZ ltd, the dual zone auto takes the place of the premium's manual HVAC? it definitely is weirded weird though

Correct. People on NASIOC had the same problem with the wording.

You just have to read it in context with the rest of the paragraph. For that part of the release they aren't talking about differences between the '14s and '13s, they're talking about the differences between Premiums and Limiteds.
