Hmm.. Maybe different states have different laws?? It's your car and your paying the tow bill.. You should have the choice on where you want it towed.. I'd show up tomorrow with my stock rims and swap them out..

Definitely do this. I had a similar situation happen years ago. I hired a lawyer, we went to court. Since the cop didn't subpoena the other driver, and he didn't personally witness the accident, my lawyer immediately asked for the case to be dismissed. The judge agreed since the officer couldn't testify that he actually witnessed any infractions (since he didn't arrive until after the accident had happened). Nor could he relay what the witnesses on scene had said, since they weren't in court for my lawyer to cross-examine. Boom, case dismissed.

+1,000. When my ex flipped the car the cop gave here wreckless and failure to maintain control.. Something jumped out in front of her.. The lawyer bill was just under a grand.. The tickets where about 425... The not being on her driving record was worth it.. Her insurance didn't go up one bit. And the Allstate agent told us over the corse of 3 years would've costed us about 2300 and then it would've been reduced if nothing else happened and the next three after that would've been another 1,300-1,400.. So it's worth it

My car was wrecked back in September end of Oct. If you need any information let me know. Save all your receipts from your purchases in the event your car is a write off. Glad your alrigt especially considering no air bag and rear crash bar.

Again its a car who cares as long as you walk away.

So what are you hoping for? Would you rather your insurance company total it or have them do the repairs?

Even if the crash bar wasn't hit, the frame could be misaligned- even the slightest shifts in the frame could change the car dramatically. I'd also be worried about the engine and the rest of the drivetrain.

Whatever happens, I hope everything works out to the best outcome. Good luck Kevin!
