More than anything lack of oil cooler and oil grade will affect temp more. I run 5w30 so it's generally a good 10-20F higher than 0w20.

Log with oft this time and see what you get.

With oil coolers, temps are fine while tracking, no shield, no wrap -

EXCEPT -
Coil 1 (right front, nearest to the header/overpipe) gets overheated and eventually throws a cel, clearable with OFT, but eventually comes back, requiring a new #1 coil. Took about a year and a half for it to happen to me, (dependent on exhaust mods, hood vent etc.).

A problem even with the first generation non modded cars in hot climates.
Toyota advised that several updates of that coil have been produced.

3 bolts to remove the ecu plate one to remove the coil - half hour.

You think a non working handbrake would be ok for the "tech inspection"?

I'm sure that will be fine. It's not exactly something you need while on track.

On a side note, why doesn't it work? Not like these are 10 year old cars with seized cables...

Great day today out there, SPDA once again puts on a great event.

Lots of FRSS and BRZZ in the grass, it was a little tough picking out which blue one, or if it was FRS or BRZ, but everyone came through unscathed.

(I was the guy in the Gilligan hat on the grid.. though now I think about it.. likely most of you have no clue who Gilligan was )

It is all Will's fault, he also got me out to the track for the first time ever (via this forum), I have been an SPDA member ever since.

Thanks again to the SPDA team. Had fun, came home without a scratch, but with less tire tread, hot rotors, and my pads finally bedded

Wish I could've been out for more of the day, but I'm glad I made it for the morning!

Good seeing everyone again!

Thank you coaches for the ride along and tips. Had a blast! And now this thread needs pics!

Edit: SPDA should invest in a megaphone

We have one, at least I could hear it while in turn 11 placing the passing zone cones in the morning.
