I mean the audio is crap, but that sounds metallic to me. Also, if you haven't checked it out.... you can't rule it out. That noise could have always existed and you just now noticed it since you changed something. You did change the way air moves through your motor as well, so...yes you could have easily changed the exhaust noises. |

Try using some Chassis mics placed around and keep moving them until you find exactly where the noise is, Sounds bothersome but if you're anything like me its worth your time.

yes. by the way, i'm not discounting anything you've suggested - i'm just starting out with the most obvious thing that was changed right before the noise started and going from there.

I thought of that as well, so it's definitely on a list of possible sources.

It's essentially valvetrain noise that you didn't hear before, but is not detrimental to your car at all. It helps the engine breath better at low RPM for more output. |

The amount of cam advance there is, in relation to the ignition phase, which allows the noise to be audible over normal engine operation.

I'm at 30k miles now. I was under the impression that if I installed it myself, there would be NO warranty on anything. So I was figuring having a shop install it, but if I do that then I'll pay the quoted $800 install fee for only 6k miles left of warranty on the limited power train, and have a 3 year warranty on the superhcarger itself. Doesn't seem worthwhile to pay a shop to do it then. But if I install it myself, will I still have the 3 year warranty on the supercharger? I can roll the dice and waive the 6,000 remaining miles of the limited power train warranty to save $800 and installing it myself. |

I was listening - i'd like edelbrock to hear it too, just so they can identify it as such and determine its a normal with the addition of the SC.
