It's alot bigger than I imagined.
It has to fit about there for support. Mine has the cat slighter back a bit to allow for the joints that aren't there on the one piece pipe. Also that kick in the pipe just after the rear support bracket isn't in mine, the rear flange is at an angle instead.

I was hoping I could get one fitted to a centre pipe if I get one but looking at that I don't imagine that would be an option.

Did you have that on file?

My fault for being ambiguous!
I meant the downpipe with the HR but it's interesting to see that shot of the midpipe.
Gotta go. My rellies need my single cab and are moaning about me selling it but it will save me a lot of fuel.

Hi B***,
We have successfully installed the overpipe into 5 BRZ/86's in Australia. Please let me know if you would like to place an order. These are in stock and ready to go.
Cheers Dan

Subject: brz overpipe
Dear Car Mods Australia,
Please forgive my concern but would you confirm that the Perrin overpipe for Subaru BRZ fits RHD vehicles? That is, it clears the steering column. http://www.carmodsaustralia.com.au/p...pipe-pspext120
With thanks,
B***.

What are the pros and cons of a Helmholtz resonator over a standard inline resonator?

Thanks for the confirmation they fit.:happy0180:

The helmholtz resonator cuts out drone in the mid range.

Are you saying that a standard inline resonator doesn't?

I have the axleback with the original centred mufflers which they modified to offset to even out the sound across the range.[as I see it] It sounds great but when I fit the overpipe and downpipe with HF cat it's going to step up a bit and the helmholtz resonator should keep it quieter at lower revs on lighter throttle so it's still nice and sociable around town and for me inside.

Currently I often have the window down in town just to hear it in the 2-3000rpm range. So sweet but certainly not offensive and I want to keep it that way as the power steps up a bit with mods.

That's the theory.

They do things a bit differently. Inline 'resonators' are pretty much just smaller absorbsion mufflers. They reduce all sound a bit and maybe one range (drone target) a little more.

A Helmholtz can be tuned to counter specific frequencies only, leaving the rest normal. So if they target the range at cruise rpm that annoys us it sounds quieter, but will still scream musically when you rip into the upper rpm range.

Do you have your trunk mat installed? It makes a big difference. I cruised for two days with not trunk mat and it is LOUD inside the cabin. With the trunk mat it goes back to pleasant. (Just curious to see if there is something making your car sound louder than it should).
