Awesome picture, and yeah, I cant see that being the permanent location for an oil filter on this car. I also dont expect toyota to make an AWD variant, but I hope subaru does. Once again, really great shots.

THANK YOU~~!!! Hachiroku!!!! You made my day! I can't wait to hear more tomorrow! Just one more request, if I may... Is it possible to take a pic on under again from other side? You've taken most of em from passenger side (JP ver) instead of driver side, so if my speculation is correct, that FT86c doesn't have boxer engine, but instead it might have 3S-GE or some i4 engine... but I can't 100% say for sure yet, cuz it's kinda hard to see.

It's more towards the left (US passenger side). Also you wouldn't able to see oil filter due to the head (for turbo ver and UEL for NA). Like this pic on WRX: Well either way, I can't wait to hear more info bout it!!! |

LOL it's all good. I think, just for this concept, they don't have the boxer engine (my guess is). Maybe that's why they haven't open the hood yet

I think we can glean a lot from the pics, rather than worrying about if there is an engine in the concept or not, and whether it's a boxer.
For example, we can see the lower A arms at the rear, practically confirming a double wishbone rear suspension. We can see the rear sway bars. We can see that it looks like a lot of the underbelly is flat . As for the vent's in the front bumper? At least they are open and not just plastic fill ins. Even if they don't cool the brakes, transmission oil and engine oil coolers could reside there. Great pics Hachi |

Glad to be here to share with everyone and take requests! Just wait till you guys see this thing in person.
The Toyota FT-86 concept will impress you even if you've been here obsessing for the last few months and seen each image of the car 100 times. And I guarantee that whatever show you see it at, it will draw some of the biggest crowds of any car at the show. I've already seen it happening here, and the public hasn't even been let in yet! Since I spent quite some time at the display I can tell you that I saw many many people just stop in their tracks when this thing comes into their view... I know I did when I first spotted it. I can see why -- it's an eye catching butt-monkey red (wouldn't you hesitate if you saw something the color of a baboon's behind ), but beyond that it's something fresh and unique in today's automotive landscape. No large mainstream manufacturer is building small and lightweight sports cars currently, much less one with this stunning a design. Even here at a European auto show where there are proportionally more compact cars (Citroen, Fiat, etc.) than at an American auto show, none have the pure sports car look and design philosophy as the Ft-86. The European-only sporty compact cars tend to be in more utilitarian forms, such as hatchbacks and shooting break designs. So the FT-86 concept stands out here in a crowd of ever-larger sedans and "sports" coupes, bland "green" cars, and utilitarian compact cars. |

So you mean they basically gave you a private audience with the car? Why did they do that?
