Oh, absolutely. They are THE mainstream. We are the niche market.

...but we can carry a passenger and even some groceries.

I own both and yes the Prius does lack any fun which is what drove my purchase of the FRS. If you want mileage and tech toys the Prius is a good fit. I like mine for what it is but have never enjoyed driving it. It's a functional ecobox that can carry a lot of stuff and get good mileage doing it. It looks quite homely next to the FRS in the garage.
