It means there will be an optional gear box with closely spaced gear ratios for people who intend on spending a lot of time at the track, and one with normal ratios for people who will spend most of their time on the street (or people who want to go drag racing).

I'm guessing the massive fuse box also houses the ECU - my Altezza halfcut had a similar sized box containing the ECU, Relays and Fuses. Makes sense to do this rather than run ECU wires all the way into the cabin like cars of old.

Hooray for Toyota!
If the ECU will be reflashable then that opens up all sorts of possiblities! Fantastic! Sounds like Cobb for sure will have software for it -- who else does Subie reflashes? Seriously this is HUGE news! |

From what i read, Toyota allowed only journalists and that they had to sign disclaimers. So, my guess is Toyota had photographers taking pics which they released to the magazines to publish.

this is a small translation on some of the parts that matter the most.
"The engine sounds like a Subaru. it’s lightness, the quickness of it’s power train and the smoothness in which the engine pulls call your attention." The article also mentions that the engineers refused to give exact HP numbers. other things they mention: "no turbo at least for the Toyota" "Subaru BRZ Being a Subaru, normally there would be a Turbo version. I’m unsure if it has the same block with D-4S, but it is perfectly compatible with forced induction." Last edited by subatoy; 11-11-2011 at 11:12 PM. |

That's interesting! Although I don't think the engines will differ that much, if anything at all, I do believe Subaru will have more hp if they plan to price at a higher price from scion.

And if these guys aren't just being paid to say nice things about it, I wonder what they'd say about one with tires that aren't worthless eco-friendly pieces.

This test was apparently done on a set of Michelin summer touring tires. Nothing particularly sticky, but they'd almost certainly have to be better than those Prius tires the other article mentioned.
