What is it with kids nowadays? I was always taught not to touch other people's cars!

And forever those kids will be telling everyone that owners of this car are a bunch of pricks. I understand that you don't want some little punk kid leaning on your car, but surely there was a more pleasant way to go about it.

I actually get more compliments from older guys. Most of the younger people around here are too ego driven to compliment someone else's car or they have the "cute car but my V6 Accord is still faster" mentality. I got a nice compliment the other day from some guy that was probably in his 50s and we shot the shit for a few minutes about his 2nd gen RX7 GTU.

I feel ya man. I'd be pissed too. I probably wouldn't be as harsh as you but I know where your coming from. I would never touch someone else's car that I didn't know. I know a few people that have a tendency to lean my on my car with their hand or arm and I always get pissed when they do that because its usually right after I washed my car!

this is most truthful thing i've read on this forum so far lol. As much as I love this car, I forget that it still costs less than $30K and less than most Accords on the street. After a year of driving this thing daily, I'm wondering why I even bothered to get the clear bra and opticoat.

yeah until some asshole is wearing a ring and unknowingly scratches the shit out of your car..... yeah go wipe that off with a micro fiber towel

There's no reason in the first place someone should be leaning on or touching your car

Right but shoving a minor and dropping the F-bomb on them, especially when they were complimenting your car, is not the way to handle it. It is moronic. The guy clearly escalated the situation instead of diffusing it. Next time those same teenagers could shove back, or bring a knife or gun into the mix.

IDGAF if its a $10k car. If you spent your hard earned money on something that you like, there is nothing wrong with wanting to keep it as nice as possible.

No I agree, I wouldn't have been as douche-tastic as he was, but I would have still asked nicely for him to not touch my car.

Totally agree. I was in a Target parking lot once and someone set a box on top of the trunk of my car at the time (Mazda 3) while they were loading their car and I politely asked them to please not do that. They gave me a started look and then apologized (I don't think the person even realized they did it).

I agree, It could be a 92 Corolla and if you don't want someone to touch your car then that is your prerogative. But he could handle it with some decency.

I've had "nice kids" compliment me on my car before. Then when I turned my back on them and walked away they spat all over it and ran away laughing.

I just don't trust people. Ever. I do find that a "please don't touch that" works-- and is preferable to any other action especially when adults and strangers are present. Strangers will almost always side with foul mouthed kids, especially when you have a car that for some reason despite it's price point, induces insane amounts of jealousy in many people.
