If you want an honest opinion, you aren't going to find a lot of difference between UEL and EL on this engine unless you're going above 400 whp. Its negligible at best. EL sounds more racier like a 4 cylinder does. UEL sounds like the WRX rumble that everyone loves, which I like a lot too.

For someone who wants to squeeze every ounce of HP out of their setup, EL is the way to go regardless of sound.

If you want the best of both worlds, go UEL.

EL's have catted options.

UEL's are only catless due to the design.

Just some things to consider when you make a header purchase. Just don't go Borla.... piece of junk.

My only complaint has absolutely nothing to do with the exhaust itself, I just wish I went with the 4 inch mufflers so it was a bit louder. Absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the product. Believe me this thing sounds flat out freaking amazing. Nice deep growl, just a bit quiet for me. I ordered the op/dp with high flow cat with it, but it seems thats still 2 weeks out Im hoping that will add to the noise a bit. Plus I plan on getting the header once they make that available. I think that should set it off. But for anyone who is looking for an exhaust, words cant describe how pleased I am with this exhaust. I didnt really notice any power increase for anyone interested, but again it was just the axleback, so none was expected. Cant wait for the rest to come in. If anyone is on the fence about this exhaust, get off of it now and call Jason or Matt.
When you install the overpipe, you'll need to do the install on a lift if you ordered the helmholtzs as a jack and jack stands can't get the car high enough to get it in there. (speaking from experince unfortunately) If you didn't get the helmholtz, you should be ok as long as you can get your car up high on jack stands. So much easier on a lift though so I suggest renting one or using someone's if you're going to do it yourself.

Power is a factor in it but it seems im one of those people who like to keep the same brand for the setup. I fell in love with nameless when I heard a youtube clip in the exhaust compilation well before I even bought my car. Honestly I dont even know the full numbers on all the headers out there. But you are right I wouldnt go with Borla for anything, which is a shame as when I was considering a 5.0 their exhaust sounded amazing. I guess they just didnt put in the time for our cars. Are Nameless making both designs, or just one?

And yea I dont have access to a full lift, so im gonna have to figure something out. Have a bit of time to ask around for options though. Wish I didnt, as I want my op/dp! But I dont mind the wait since im sure it will be worth it.

Did this in my garage on jack stands...no lift required. You DO need to undo the engine mounts though.

Nameless is only making one design because they only care about one thing, POWER. Catted for staying legal in stx events and a catless version, both longtube and interchangeable from N/A to FI.

You don't need a lift to do any of this work, but it sure makes it easier.

Just put on the 2.5 exhaust. It's actually pretty loud lol (not riced out). But then again, I've never had an aftermarket exhaust. I'm going to order the down pipe soon. Just waiting on the headers for final release info and will probably go full nameless the neighbors will not be pleased when i wake up for work.

So I will be purchasing a axleback. Just confused. ..the 4 inch is louder than the 5 inch? Are the tips the same size as the mufflers? The 2.5 are direct bolt ons but the 3 inch arent. Kind of lost

4" refers to the length (IIRC...probably not diameter) of the muffler. A longer muffler will be quieter.

4 inch is louder than 5 inch, (length). 2.5" and 3" both bolt to the stock mid pipe. I have the 3" Axleback and it uses a gasket to connect to it. I plan on getting a 3" downpipe and 3" midpipe to complete the setup with the Nameless turbo header.

So I got my OP/DP combo a couple weeks ago but have been in and out of town so couldnt install it until now. For you guys who have this and have done it with jackstands, where did you jack the motor up at? As said before I am a complete novice at working on cars so will have a friend help me, and he wasnt sure since hes never been under a BRZ before, he just said not to use the oil pan. So where is the best point to jack the motor up at? And is it just an inch or two after you undo the passenger side motor mounts? Thanks.

Undo passenger side 14mm motor mount nut. Carefully and slowly jack under exhaust manifold. Don't need much, about 3-5" should do. You need to undo two 14mm nuts on the manifold, one 14mm bolt for the mid hanger and two 12mm nuts on two 14mm spring bolts.

Leave everything loose and tighten with the motor back at regular height. Push the overripe upward while tighten to gain all the clearance you can to clear frame.

Thanks man. Have to say that sounds a kinda intimidating to someone without any experience. Jacking up under the exhaust manifold wont hurt anything? I assume thats what everyone is using as well?

i have heard of some people doing thi without jacking up the engine. but u need to take off the heat shields from the over pipe. and unbolt everything and then twist everything out slowly. that IF you dont want to undo the engine. BUt its gonna be harder.

Anyone wanna chine im regarding doing this with out jackaing up the engine
