We actually did run a multi fuel Army truck on some moonshine vodka in Germany, just to see how well it ran. Most power that bloody truck ever had!
Don't know how long it would have lasted since we only had a couple of gallons and a week later we lifted that truck up in a sling with a chopper flew it 1,000 feet over the bomb range and dropped it.

Awesome! The M35 multi fuel truck is a beast! My buddy said they ran one on used motor oil once.

Ethanol is illegal to put in gasoline in Germany. That's enough reason for me to abstain.

My baby in Germany in 1977. I ran it on helicopter (kerosene jet fuel) many, many times. The markings on the tail gate show I had gasoline in the pod at that point in time.
I think I have a pic of the doomed truck headed to the range via sling someplace.

Well it is E85 since there is still 15% gasoline in it so I hope nobody is making E20 moonshine! But, now that you mention it I am pretty sure I have had some E80 'shine in the past!

Welp, since all my kin folk on my mothers side, lived in West Virginia, I spent quite a bit of time there. Now, if you mess around with the still (double distilling) that crap, one can approach 190 proof (of ethyl alcohol - ethanol). If you drag a jug of that out of the stream before it's cooled down and take a big swig and .....

I'll betcha that stuff would make a turbo spin .....
