Need some quick advice if you guys can help... So my brother and I got our sister a small microwave for Christmas, but I guess we didn't think it through very well... Her studio apartment kitchen doesn't have a lot of counter-space, but the microwave we ordered is specifically a "countertop" model, and she put it in the microwave nook above her fridge (which we didn't know she had)...
Seems like a safety hazard because the vent(s) are probably not facing the front of the microwave.. Any ideas?

The microwave is most likely vented to the top or the front. If vented at the top, if there is a couple inches of space between the top of the unit and the top of the nook, it should be OK. humfrz |

We are having a turporken roll. Yep, deboned turkey stuffed with boneless pork and a boneless chicken. A layer of Cajun cornbread stuffing is added between each bird. Never had one before, we shall see - humfrz |

For now she was able to make some space in a corner of the one small counter she has. Will see if that works for now. Thanks hum

unless she's defrosting multiple turkey's for the entire block, it really shouldn't be much of an issue. being a single guy, i microwave most of my meals, and the counter top micro really never gets even close to warm for the 12-15 minutes i use it

If there's as much room above as the height of the feet supporting it, you're fine. There's also likely a minimum clearance spec in the instruction manual. If there isn't, I'd assume that it's designed to not need any (ex. standoffs in the back)

I volunteered to take the watch at my work on christmas eve and christmas day
but the person who writes the watchbill has me working monday, tuesday wednesday off shift and then back on thursday friday and saturday.... when I asked her about it she said "you volunteered, that doesnt mean you are gonna get it" so now I need plans for christmas (single bachelor with no local family... or dog) I usually try to take christmas, new years eve night shift, and thanksgiving. typically im more likely to celebrtate it to some degree if I have work that day. on thanksgiving we brought in a mini pot luck for those in attendance. and last year on new years eve i watched the ball drop twice, and brought in sparkling cider and frank sinatra albums whats even open christmas day? dennys? perkins? sizzler? |
